Boo Carter (Status, Rumors, Updates)

Interesting point on owning it. Maybe a better way to phrase it would be that Heupel is responsible for the choices and decisions he knowingly makes on the recruiting trail? If things go south, you can't just blame the player. The coach who rolled the dice and signed said player also bears some responsibility. If a kid with no history were to suddenly go off the reservation, I can see giving the coach a pass, but again, Heupel knew what he was getting into with Carter. Bet he also wasn't blind on Nico's pop and family either. Just saying he's accountable for the product he's assembled.

Now my head hurts. Damn lawyers.
For better or worse 100% of D1 coaches would’ve taken Boo or Nico knowing the baggage and the risks.

How does he "own it"? Is there a formal declaration? And if he doesn't "own" it, what happens? That just seems like a nebulous declaration on your part..."I'm not blaming him for doing what any high level coach would do, but if it doesn't work out, he owes me this undefined thing I'll call 'owning it.'"

If it doesn't work out, Tennessee loses a talented player. That's the consequence. At that point, Heupel should move on and not look back because he's in charge of something much bigger than one player.
Look who you’re responding to! Absolute troll and a waste of time!

Ok, this is obviously a Tony B guy and with the AD being tight lipped, it’s affected the show and income stream and the constant crapping on our coach even with Boo returning, shows they want him gone because the show is more important to Tony than what’s best for the program. Makes sense with it putting or not putting food on his table. I used to like him and read his blog. Had a couple of email conversations with him. But these postings from a few posters recently has shown what seems to me as more of an AGENDA. Who cares if it’s the truth. It was none of our business and doesn’t help the program. Not sure if Boo being back is good or not but Coach has the responsibility and it’s his decision.
Tony hasn’t said or done any more than Ainge, or Will and Tyler. Not our business? WTH does that mean? More homerism. No media person is obligated to ignore these stories, nor are they virtuous for doing so.

Ainge has talked a lot about it, Tyler and Will said there was a physical altercation. But, “Basilio is trash for talking about this!!!”
Let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter who said it first, the information was coming out from the radio shows who…wait for it…share information they’ve heard or know so why so many are butthurt by Basilio I’m not sure

Heupel announced he is still with the team in today's presser but had work to do to get back on the field

Based on what Josh said today, it sounds like he is but he still has work to do to get back in the good graces of the coaches and his teammates. He didn’t elaborate on what that “work” entails.
Thanks friends.
Hope it works out and the man puts in the work to be right.

If not, I trust the coaches and team leaders to do the correct thing if time comes.

Side note - how many good players have we had that were in this same spot at some point...J Jennings, Banks, Barnett at one point, a lot more I think just can't recall.

It’s hard to understand because you start off with a lie. He absolutely slighted White when he fabricated an unsubstantiated rumor that Danny White sold off season tickets to corporations in Texas over Tennessee alumni. I couldn’t understand why no one else was talking about this for days so I looked for anything online to back this claim and found absolutely nothing to support it.

If you can’t be sure about that, then I am sure I can’t waste my time talking with you any further.
UT likely did sell a portion of their tickets to brokers. Many universities do at a substantial profit.

Boo was one of the better defenders on our
Top 10 Defense as a true freshman.

We all know how explosive he is with the football in his hands.

- Defense NB
- Punt Returner
- Slot WR

These are all the positions I predicted he had a future. I didn’t think he would try to play all of them at once though.

Set the drama down while we can. If Heupel handles this situation because Boo decides to act like the ultimate teammate. Then watch out!

I just hope Boo and Joey Aguilar can form a bond. Imagine if you put just a little of Joeys grateful for every opportunity mentality into the body of 5’11” 200 lbs 4.4 speed Boo Carter?

He’s going to be a Heisman contender if that happens.
