These folks don't have a sports talk show (or at least, they don't advertise it if they do). That makes him a part of local media. Certainly what he is doing falls under the scope of journalism.

Not the first person to know. Just the first person who found out, that didn’t give a **** about the welfare of the UT football program. That’s who TB was in this case. Just a guy who was more interested in attention than whether or not a problem could be mended.

Many professional writers who cover TN athletics get their hands on rumors early and quite often, but for the sake of not severing ties with the TN athletics program, they refrain from spreading the rumors until the right time in which the program says the damage is done and there’s no going back.

TB slighted Danny White in an unsubstantiated claim and now has caused problems for the Heupel staff. Tony B is on his was to getting his sources ran off from campus, if I were Danny White or Josh Heupel.

I mean, almost everything in the above post is incorrect. TB is a HUGE, lifelong UT fan. He is not a "professional writer," he didn't "slight" Danny White, and he doesn't have any sources on campus that are going to be run off by White or Heupel.

He runs an independent sports talk/call-in show for entertainment purposes.

I'm not sure why this is so hard to understand.

No idea, but Heupel ain't Tony V or Barnes. He's an absolute master at talking but saying absolutely nothing. He has that gift as a coach. Getting info from that dude is like pulling wisdom teeth.

He consistently brings on guests and asks them questions (like a reporter/journalist would do), he has posted articles on his website discussing various Vol related topics, and he also occasionally passes along "insider information" (Lovie Smith on a plane!). This absolutely falls under the same umbrella as sports journalism, even if isn't quite journalism. Sort of a wannabe journalist.

It’s hard to understand because you start off with a lie. He absolutely slighted White when he fabricated an unsubstantiated rumor that Danny White sold off season tickets to corporations in Texas over Tennessee alumni. I couldn’t understand why no one else was talking about this for days so I looked for anything online to back this claim and found absolutely nothing to support it.

If you can’t be sure about that, then I am sure I can’t waste my time talking with you any further.

I have a cousin that’s a lawyer and works almost entirely from her basement. Not sure working from your basement is a mark of shame in this age. Lots of people work at home.

I don’t have any inside info or anything but just from what I’ve seen from Boo and his family I don’t see a scenario where he plays his entire college career here. He may even play for us this season but I expect to do this all over again for the portal next off season with him.

Deer park has mentioned this as well. It was a 10 year agreement and are sold above face value 10 years ago, we had tons of unsold tickets. I think it will expire in a year or two. Hopefully, they will not renew as long as interest is as high as they report it to be.

Agreed the agreement was made 10 years ago when the stadium only had 60-80k in it every weekend. Hopefully when the contract expires we don’t renew or cut the number of tickets allocated to them.
