Ummm......No.Boo is a really good player. He deserves special treatment. Just try and pretend like we held him accountable. But most if all we need him on the team and need him on defense. We can't run off every player who steps out of line. We already lost Jakobe Thomas to Miami. Let's keep what we have. We already did our part by standing up to Nico.
That’s what you have leadership council for on the team. Ultimately team gets the say if a guy comes back or not. I do think most of the time there is a path back if someone cares enough to take it. Accountability is hard for some though.Coaches always have to weigh the pros and cons when dealing with players like this. Fulmer and Majors had their fair share of talented players that were difficult. Some were dismissed while others were tolerated. Winning games is the ultimate goal. Hopefully this situation gets resolved and the team is ready for a great upcoming season.
What happened is true. Its been reported by multiple sources and even Swain who doesn’t like to out players thought it wasn’t likely he would be back. He said as a player he wouldnt expect the other players to accept him back. So, if Boo is at practice, should we assume nothing happened, something happened but it wasn't as TB said, everything happened as TB said but Boo got back in good with the team, or that we're all glad the off-season is over?
Can we get a drinking game together with every time Heupel coughs/clears his throat or says "culture" in the pressers after practices?
We'll need some kind of entertainment after this winds down.
Didn't he flirt with the portal last year, too? If he knew he could move today and play right away, he'd be gone. You can't depend on this guy. Why risk ruining the locker room for the coming season when you're already playing with house money from Nico? Next year Boo will probably be in Boulder but the damage here will certainly linger. This is a no brainer. You cut this kid loose and take a stand. Send a message and unify the locker room. Be smart Heupel. It’s an interesting situation.
He is a very good player.
He’s at a position of little depth at DB, Punt returner, and occasional WR.
Of course, there are things that a player does that you can’t ignore and some that you can’t forgive.
Is the solution expulsion, suspension, apology and recompense?
Only CJH and Danny White and maybe the team Captains can decide that.
How valuable he is. Huep know s he is going need him not matter , everyone deserves another chanceDidn't he flirt with the portal last year, too? If I were a betting man, I’d wager that Boo will be cut loose.Didn't he flirt with the portal last year, too? If he knew he could move today and play right away, he'd be gone. Think he turns things around and becomes a all American n plays in the nfl… the guy is just to talentedWhen Boo got into a trash talking with Kendrick Law vs Bama and we got lucky on that penalty that basically was the end of game changer and a killer for Bama. Me as a Vol fan was happy how it turned out but it really should have been offsetting penalties which would have been back breaking. I said to my buddy at the time a player that young going off at a critical time with trash talking and he threw a punch that missed and the refs missed it too. This will hurt us in games down the road unless he matures. IMO he's one of those players that could end up like Juan Jennings and things fall into place and play in the NFL or he could end up screwing up his career.
I think highly of Swain, but he is not on the coaching staff, nor knows everything they know. Let's just let it play out.Swain, on Friday, said he'd be "shocked and floored" if Boo is back with the team when practice starts. I think we might as well move on from another DIVA that thinks he is bigger than the Power T.
