Boo Carter rumors from Basilio

PLEASE. HELP AN OLD GUY OUT!

Nearly 800 posts in this thread alone, can somebody supply a list of just facts, not rumor, not innuendo, not sacrosanct OPINION, but real info of meetings or practices missed, trip where, CA or CO to meet whom and who paid for it, how many and whose calls did he not accept, interaction with teammates, and any other relevant FACT that will have to be the basis of Coach’s actions going forward. Assumptions be damned.

Sadly, one related fact is that other programs can accurately share the presence of a meltdown over here, sadly reminiscent of the Trailer Trash days. Maybe we can put down the rebellion with a reset with JUST THE (supportable) FACTS.
Like Tony Basillo reported earlier this week, Boo has missed some team workouts and is out of town. Those are the facts

Ha! No offense. It is frustrating thinking that we are somehow the only team that has pre madonnas. OSU and Tejas pay more than us. And have more talent. UGA too.
UGA has behavior issues but they just don't care unless (or even if, sadly) someone gets killed. They are winning a lot, though.

tOSU keeps the lid on whatever happens but they also recruit at the "don't screw up your path to the NFL" level consistently. Guys they get are highly focused on getting Round 1 or Round 2 money and there's someone really talented behind you if you screw with the coach.

TX is frankly scary. So much money could be tapped there if they start winning. Sark is familiar with bad choices and can testify that redemption exists but isn't easy. I hope they go back to being the hapless TX I enjoyed watching have a ton of promise..... and fail, but they are scary.

You can be the arbiter of fact vs fiction but here is a summary of claims made in the thread through about 2pm today: ChatGPT - Analyze message board pages

That's one thing I admire about Vitello. If the family is nutty or the kid has issues, he won't let him on the front porch. Heupel played with fire for Nico and Carter. He's likely going to get burned twice. Might be time to stop playing with fire?
I said something similar over on VQ and got killed for comparing "apples to oranges." The people on that board are ****ing crazy, as I was trying to compare how Tony V would handle it compared to Heup

All due respect but football recruiting & baseball recruiting are far different especially the amount of money involved.

Hindsight is 20/20. Heupel felt he had to get a top QB in ‘23 class after missing on Ty Simpson so they went for Nico. Volnation would have burnt couches again if he’d passed on Carter.

To be fair, you get a lot more bad apples in football than in baseball.

I also think Heupel had to take some chances in his first couple recruiting classes before he started winning and the program started recruiting itself again.

If Boo had been an out of state kid I don’t think Heup would have brought him in personally. There was just so much pressure that cycle to make sure he ended up here.

I have a message. Boo's plane was shot down over the Sea of Japan. It spun in. There were no survivors.

He had character issues coming out of high school, everyone was aware of this. Heup rolled the dice, looking like he didn’t come up with a 7. Nico first, now possibly Boo, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. As the world turns, we shall see on the 29th. Go Vols!

You named 3 programs that have 5* players as backups. They can wave bye and still be fine.

The money might be different, but when you boil it down, nut cases are nut cases. If the family is problematic or the kid has a checkered past, needs and money aren't even in the discussion IMO. You don't knowingly bring a problem or potential problem into your locker room. It was reported the Vitello backed off a kid because he and/or his family were all about money. Not a fit. You get a kid with Carter's alleged off the field issues and I'd bet the farm Vitello wouldn't return a call from the kid much less continue recruiting him. Respectfully agree to disagree on this one.

If things are as they appear, I'd not be waiting until the 29th. Frankly, I'd have already cut him loose by now.

This situation just keeps getting worse. There's a chance he might be able to transfer and play this season because of the Miami Wisconsin lawsuit.

CFB has become unrecognizable. It's beyond depressing

I am on the edge of not caring about football sadly. I will always love the Vols, but I really really miss what wearing pantone 151 once meant to these players.

Yeah I can’t see anyone missing on 18 year olds chasing money.

I still watch it because I love football, but I'm sure not invested like I used to be. NIL, transfer portal and conference realignment has killed a lot of enjoyment.

I hate the college playoff set up. I'd rather go back to the BCS

Y’all are hilarious. No one in here has any clue what’s going to happen.

Every day that passes he’s further and further behind the 8 ball.

My prediction is he will be on this team. I don’t think Heupel could keep the lid on him departing until the 29th if he was going. Boo would announce where he was going.

Heupel dictating that he will speak on it at media day tells me he’s going to control the narrative. No way you have that control if the kid is out the door.

The Nico stuff was so out of control they were forced to speak. He was gone and they had to say it. PR 101, stay out in front of the situation.

The staff is calm and cool on this one. Read the room.
There's about a 0.1% chance he's on this team come the first practice.

We will agree to disagree. I can’t fathom how you guys think someone as fickle as Boo has proven to be would be dead silent on social media for a week or more leading up to next week without some reason for restraint. IE he’s not gone.

The common denominator here with both of these guys are that the parents are being an issue. Apparently Boo’s mom is already playing the victim, based on a social media interaction that I saw. Same thing with Big Nic calling Pete Naikos a Bi7ch. These people need to grow the hell up .

Baseball is a middle class & above sport due to cost. I’d say a majority of football players come from backgrounds with income levels below that.

Vitello had his “deal” with Chase Burns. Burns changed schools & teams every year prior to Tennessee.

The entire Baseball rev share is about the same as Carter’s NIL. The money involved isn’t in the same stratosphere

What are we going to do? Burn a mattress?

Seriously. It's like old men yelling at clouds in here about this. Basilio is not that good nor powerful. If you get worked up over his stuff, YOU'RE giving him too much credit. He does what he does and it's entertainment, not critical info.

He got this one mostly right, he often gets things wrong. He doesn't "damage" anything.
Getting things wrong doesn't NOT do damage. He's not the only one but he has a following and people think he actually knows what he's talking about (along with a couple others), so it does nothing but throw fuel on the fire all so they can get some views.

Baseball is completely different as each individual has a larger impact to the success or failure of a team because most have to field and hit. Plus it is much more of a mental game than football. Can’t have a nut job out there who can wreck team chemistry and cause others to lose focus.

Good football teams have a handful of crazies. You have to be in order to go out there and mash people for 60 mins. However there is a line and sometimes the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. Boo seems to be that way unfortunately.
