Boo Carter rumors from Basilio

Good riddance. Him and his mother have major issues and have had major issues everywhere they have gone. He literally got a NIL raise and they’re opening up the offense for him and it still isn’t enough. I’ll be glad when he’s gone
That’s the part that’s confusing the heck out of me. Dude gets paid more money and promised a role of offense, and he’s unhappy? what exactly is the problem now? just doesn’t make sense and is really annoying

For these NIL deals, I know they can't put performance incentives in there (I believe they can't anyway...), but what about character and/or responsibility clauses? Like with this deal with Boo, I read that he wanted to play offense and defense ala Travis Hunter. Fine, so they told him they would do it and gave him more money. What about his end of the deal?
Athlete's are gods. They don't have to honor their end. Above the law kind of thing.

What's confusing? You've never heard of a kid being raised by a turd also end up as a turd?

He is crazy and his mom is worse. It's been painfully obvious for years but has accepted/overlooked due to talent. At some point the headaches aren't worth the talent. The bulk of the folks in the program want him gone and Banks and Martinez are in that boat and cool with him leaving.

Exactly.....IMO, his only chance is to go far far away. As in the other side of the country.

We all would like to see this end well....he becomes a good teammate and stays at Tennessee. I don't see it and if he were to stay this will happen again. See Nico.

You actually have to do what the contract states to get the money. When Nico left, it was mentioned that he left money on the table because he no-showed events and other things he was supposed to do. You don't get the money just because, because NIL technically isn't pay to play.

The contracts aren't public so nobody knows exactly how they are structured, but I can't imagine they're giving much (or any) money up front. I would think that they've paid Boo next to nothing on his most recent re-upped NIL deal that was supposedly signed a few months ago.

For the last part, you’ve heard that? or are you just putting 2 and 2 together

Handing thousands/millions of dollars over to 18-21 year old kids? Sure! What could go wrong???
The kids need a slice of the pie, but I hope they are getting the counseling and financial guidance they need to succeed with it. The money they make in 2-4 years is more than what most people make in 10, and can really uplift them for the rest of their lives if they can manage it correctly.

Unfortunately most kids will ignore the guidance and just spend it on depreciating crap.

I did hear that Arkansas had paid Nico’s little brother a pretty good amount upfront and that they might be suing them to get it back.

He was also promised around 10 touched per game out of HS (that number included punt returns). So promises made in the winter portal window doesn’t mean anything. Although that still doesn’t excuse his unprofessionalism, and with what he’s getting paid I consider him a professional. Anyone that paid attention to how he carried himself in his recruiting interviews and the trouble he was in throughout high school and the fact his mom is the epitome of a parent that enables and even encourages shi+bird behavior should’ve seen this coming. I told all my buddies that we should’ve let him walk back in the winter when he was trying to shake the program down and kept Harrison and Squirrel instead. Then went and gotten an actual big time receiver like Eric Singleton or Concepcion. Best case scenario with Boo this year would’ve been him being elite and the staff having to renegotiate with him again this winter or spring. Worst case scenario is what is playing out right now. How a fan was able to see that and the staff wasn’t is mind blowing to me
