Tony has always been one of the most humble guys and has owned mistakes. As he says, “I can be wrong, but I won’t stay wrong.” You’re wayyyyy off base here. Since, as you say, he’s wrong OFTEN, it shouldn’t be hard to provide an example.

What has always bothered me about Basilio, is that whenever he is wrong (often), there is never any accountability for it. He never acknowledges having been wrong. He simply drops the subject from his discussion and pretends he didn't say it. In the 90's, Mike Keith used to make fun of him for this on the air .... Rightfully so.

Tony has had Mike Keith on his show several times since Keith got the big UT gig. So yeah TB is just trash - rightttttt!

One of the key differences in TB and of the rest of the Knox sports media is that TB isn’t beholding to anyone.

TB was one of the 1st to give Vitello a decent size audience in Knox - other than of course state run media - who barely gave Vitello the time of day.

... and Mike Keith used to make fun of Basilio on the air in the early to mid-90's. He did ... and so did Mike Keith's sidekick at the time, Cody Allison. I remember it well.

I didn't say that Basilio was "trash" ...... but he is frequently wrong (Lovie Smith was on a plane to Knoxville during a coaching search was one of his better moments) .... and Basilio will usually just change the subject, rather than admit that he was wrong.

I did actually. But this is big time sports now with money involved. If we're gonna treat it like NFL then some players might feel like certain meetings are optional. NFL Stars don't often attend mini camps

Besides I think I would focus more on the ability to put a coherent sentence together instead of worrying about anything I am doing. Yeah this thread got nasty quick.

Anyway, nothing confirmed yet but it’s looking likely he’s on his way out after sources besides Tony B. have heard from inside the program. Team is pissed at him for not showing up to workouts and just phoning it in all summer I suppose. Then he goes to Cali without telling anyone where he’s at and no one can get a hold of him.

No official word yet .... but I expect an announcement on Friday that there has been a parting of the ways.
