Boo Carter rumors from Basilio

It sounds like he went to California (Colorado?) without permission, missed multiple meetings and team workouts, and pissed his teammates off. It's a significant issue. Practice starts in a week. These players aren't just free to take off whenever they want.
Supposedly according to Basilio's source, he was with his family at Disneyland. I'm guessing it wasn't cleared with the team which is why we are at this point. The issue with Colorado is he can't play with them this year. It's too late to transfer. So AP is not seeing how this has any legs to it, but stranger things have happened. The real cause for concern is if he hires the agent that was mentioned in APs post. Apparently the agent is a grifter.

Let him head to Colorado. He can’t play this year. Sanders is in bad health and probably won’t even be there next year. He is just coaching now to prove people wrong that said he would leave after his sons left.

Yep. Time to Nico him and focus on the guys who are about this team, program and season. Another case of addition by subtraction. One thing is certain. After Nico and perhaps Carter, Heupel needs to take a long, hard look at his recruiting eval process and make sure to really factor in family and history. This is getting silly.
Kirby just had two more players arrested on charges way more serious than this, you think he’s going to change how he evaluates recruits?

The staff does the best they can, they passed on recruiting a few highly ranked players in the last few years because of concerns. When you factor in family influences, hangers- on, and the $$ sometimes you just can’t fix stupid.

Oh yeah, the agent is bad news.

I bet he'd show back up on campus if we cut off his direct deposit. And if not, oh well. We really just need to move on from these players that think they are bigger than the program.
Didn’t he ask for more money in the offseason? We need structured contracts. Just throwing away money

Well well well!

Sounds like some of yall gonna owe Basilio and ole Local Yokel an apology! I'll hang up and listen
They never will apologize. But, some of us know and appreciate what Tony B. means to Tennessee sports. Tony V. really likes him and comes on his show from time to time, that should speak for itself

As shown by the QB from BYU, he can avoid the portal, simply withdraw from UT, and enroll elsewhere. Weird, but doable.

Plenty of stuff happens behind the scenes that you have no idea about. Kids have real world problems. Most of these problems are dealt with and don’t benefit from being made public. Basillo makes money off strife within the program; I’m just not a fan of that. A good bit of rumors that he circulates are just that rumors.

100% this. Then posting 3rd person with his entire resume trying to defend himself. If you hurt the team or program just hoping for clicks....you are part of the problem. NOT the solution.

CJH runs a scandal free program even dismissing one of the top 2 rated QBs ever on scholarship at UT in order to keep his culture and team standards intact. You dont just throw crap at a program like that, seeing what will stick. Back to being completely irrelevant to most for Basilio.

Or, there's an actual issue going on and the job is to report on the issues within the UT athletic program. Just because it's not good news, he shouldn't report it? Echo chambers are your thing? Don't tell me what you know, tell me what I want to hear?

If he IS making it all up, exaggerating, or whatever, it should be part of his legacy. 100%.

If he IS reporting an issue that exists, apparently you'd rather be blindsided and holler "Why didn't Hubbs or Basilio or somebody know about this? Those guys are useless and never tell us anything."

That’s EXACTLY what I’m saying. Defend? Tony spoke to something that now EVERY other media member has jumped on. He’s the bad guy. Y’all are just full of it.

^^^ HAHAHAHA.
This from the guy who started this entire cesspool but refuses to acknowledge his (easily discerned) identity. What a Muppet.

Yeah, he's (you're) a really scary guy. He (you) wouldn't do anything other than stand there with a goofy look on his (your) face. Tony (You) started this garbage now every blogger and wannabe writer on social media has ran with it in a sorry attempt for some ecred. Meanwhile a 19 year old kid has been the target of this hit piece without having any facts or concrete evidence that anything worth discussing is really going on. Tony (You) and people like him are the scum of the earth. They (You) race to drop a story without vetting it or even concern themselves how this impacts the player or the university. I live in Knoxville much like Tony (You). So if Tony (you) want to discuss this further without keyboards we can put your hypothesis to the test. My guess is this is far as it would ever go for Tony (you).

Exactly this.

I second all of this, and somebody just shot WAY up my list of favorite posters. Felt like those sentences came from my own head when I read them. Good job.

Your takes keep getting worse and worse but that’s predictable coming from you.

I guess he could take the NIL $ he’s gotten here and pay out of state tuition at Colorado and walk on.
Apparently that's what is happening at Tulane. Until we see if House actually can limit NIL deals, it's still an NIL deal driven world. If he walks on somewhere, I seem to recall an NIL that was paying tuition for all walk ons at some point in this madness, so that may be part of it.

It's possible Boo is thinking college is just where he has to go before he can enter the draft. That's historically a bad strategy and education should be the point of going to college but money sank that ship decades ago for some guys and we've all known and loved Vols who were at the school just for sports and to just stay eligible academically. It's not a new thing.

Pulling this a week before Fall camp is somewhat of a new thing, at the very least a very rare thing.

What are his options this close to start of fall camp? If he's dismissed or wants to transfer, he has to sit out the season doesn't he? Seems like he's dug a massive hole for himself unless I'm missing something...
