I agree, His haters seem to think e a journalist, and he's not. I’ve known and so the bed to him since 95and he's entertaining and real. He’s had some not his info at times, which he admits and pokes fun at. Nobody in Sports entertainment/media in Knoxville has given more to the community than that guy. He makes this stuff fun and he does not take himself too seriously. I agree that I hate for him on this board is pretty tiresome. I get that he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but he’s made a nice career here doing what he’s doing and he has helped a ton of people along the way.

Plenty of stuff happens behind the scenes that you have no idea about. Kids have real world problems. Most of these problems are dealt with and don’t benefit from being made public. Basillo makes money off strife within the program; I’m just not a fan of that. A good bit of rumors that he circulates are just that rumors.

Head the first to say that Dubar was going through some horrible things and it wasn’t behavior or performance issues. He didn’t say what losses he experienced, but he hinted that he’d suffered loss. A couple Guys on 99.1 were saying it was a performance or work ethic issue. Tony knew but didn’t say what it was, but he was quick to point out that people need to back off the kid for not living up to the hype.

Yessir! He’s also been very candid about what he does and doesn’t know with the Boo thing in saying he doesn’t have all the details only that it’s definitely an issue.

I'm not defending Basillo, heck, I've never listened to his show....but he did go to UT back in the day....and, if I remember correctly, lived in 'The Zoo'. Older folks will know what that means....so maybe cut the feller some slack?

Meanwhile a 19 year old kid has been the target of this hit piece without having any facts or concrete evidence that anything worth discussing is really going on. You might want to consider a break from this board. No need to go at someone personally like that on a nuclear level.

I’d rather that media figures take it slower/easier on college athletes given their youth as well. Let keep it focused on the issues.
