Glad he is back but he will be the first to sign up to transfer when the season is over. I hope we never mention his name about any transfer news but I’d bet the farm that we do. Go Vols!! Keep working hard and keep doing the right things all the time!!

Also according to some in the other thread the "he's a dumb kid" can't be used anymore because he's being paid. As if that somehow helps these kid's decision making.

Unfortunately money doesn’t make our decision making any better. The money these kids are getting will raise expectations by the fans. Kids are getting paid like professional athletes; they should have some measure of increased accountability.

People got to understand expectations don’t equal reality.

Right. I don’t expect money to help them make better decisions, I just expect them being paid to bring along increased accountability. As you said, it also brings higher expectations, which doesn’t guarantee they will be met.

Yeah, everyone is different. I was pretty vanilla I guessed. Never got into drinking or anything but the opportunity to make money always motivated me at that age. I think the prospect of turning that into 20 million Im a couple years would be the motivation I need to buckle down. IDK though. Easy for me to say that.

I mean it pisses me off to see a kid waste his chance. Idk that it’s any more of a “chance” than it was before. Kids were given free room and board and a chance at a degree that could change their whole life. Money is only real change in the equation and sure it comes with increased opportunities but i think the predators and perils it has brought into a lot of these young athletes orbits also needs to be thought of.

What I’m saying in short is maybe we’re expecting better decision making but with all the distractions and predatory bad actors that come with wealth (some of them family) should we really expect better decisions out of these kids?

For many of them, it’s about the people around them wanting to use them and giving them bad advice for their own gain. That’s the part I feel so bad about for them. Imagine being 19 and having all these people whom you love taking advantage of you and putting a burden on you to help them. Im not saying that’s the case for Boo, but it’s the case for many.

I get that. But the money doesn't suddenly make him older and more mature. He's still 19 years-old. This could be a character building event in his life. I'm rooting for him.

I hope he succeeds here. If we’re dealing with any more bs with him in the offseason next year though I’m good with letting him go as well.

Kid is an elite talent. Just needs to mature as a person hopefully here.
