Bolden and McCoy out for Outback bowl

That couldn't have really happened. Winning a bowl game is the only way to get "momentum."

It sure beats the heck out of losing the bowl game. Regardless of the semantics, it's the next game which makes it the most important game.

all the big time athletes at Ivy League style prep schools perform amazingly on the academic front in college. something must just be amiss with Rico.

I can't believe some of you feel this game doesn't matter. Any game we play in matters, yes hat, it does, maybe it doesn't matter to you, but it matters to me, as a freakin' Vol football fan even the O & W game matters to me. I would suspect that it matters to the players and coaches too, and Im pretty sure it matters to a recruit, maybe not the top priority, but I'm pretty sure it matters. For this season, this game is the difference in a 10 win season, whether believe it or not, does matter. Geez.

Tragic. Two players missing from a meaningless game. I fear the world will spin off its axis.

You say that but if UT loses you will be one of the first on here to bash. But on second thought if UT wins you will be one of the first on here to bash.

My bad...

Wrong. Then again, that's pretty much par for the course for you. I said last year the bowl game was irrelevant. In fact, I made little to no comment on the bowl loss until people like you were on here licking Fulmer's boots talking about all the progress that was made in the 2006 season. Only then did I point out that we got our asses kicked in a meaningless bowl by a mediocre team.

The "importance" of any sporting event is in the eye of the beholder. Some people are just way to cool to actually root for their team in a stupid bowl game. It like totally doesn't matter O.k.?

Mayo did graduate, he is supposedly getting his masters, if he does not enter the draft.

You can try to paint me any way you want. But your game is easy to read. You hedge both sides. If UT loses you come on and bash and talk about how we can't even beat a bad WI team. If we win you say we only beat a bad WI team.

But hey, have fun bashing.

Again, proof? Oh, that's right. Poeple like you are the folks who just take on faith that the bulbous imbecile who has led us to nary an SEC title in the 21st century is just the man for the job. Evidence is irrelevant. Shouldn't you be concocting some ridiculous conspiracy theory involving Arthur Blank, ESPN, the 911 Commission, Disney, Lou Dobbs, and Carrot Top? You're very good at it.

Straw man there hat?

This topic is about a bowl game. I can tell you must have not played much competitive sports. I want to win everything I do and I want the team I root for to win every game they play.

I bet you hate this time of year. With so many people happy and celebrating. But don't worry January 2nd will be here soon enough and you won't have to here Merry Christmas or Happy New year.

BTW Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Quite confident I've played every bit as much as you. I never said I don't want them to win. Simply saying it has no practical benefit if they win and no real detriment if they lose. It's nothing but a glorified scrimmage in a horsecrap city.

Hat's right, this game means very little. The only bowl game that means absolutely anything will be the last one played in New Orleans. If they win, great, if they lose, doesn't mean a whole lot. If you're going like me, just be thankful they serve alcohol inside the gates.

Have you ever been happy? Did you get picked on so much as a kid that smart ass wise cracks as an adult is all you have to hold on to? You're like Mr Potter on it's a wonderful life.

I really do wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
