Bold Cal Predictions

I don't think Lonshore's mechanics are the issue. It has been his decision-making in the big games that has killed us. That pic-six against Arizona basically robbed us of the Rose Bowl last year. The biggest question this year will be whether or not Longshore has truly matured, the same way Ainge did last year.

It's a huge thing against fast defenses. He has such an inconsistent motion. Sometimes he slaps the ball (bad), sometimes he drops it to his hip before the throw (bad), sometimes he does both (real bad). Sometimes he does it perfectly. He's an inconsistent QB, but I don't expect you to actually A) understand why, B) be able to spot it, and C) care.

Of course I care! And like you said, "sometimes he does it perfectly." Well I would expect a whole lot of that this year.

What is it all about?

Well GA there is a lot that goes into what it is all about. Longshore started his career with a vicious injury that sidelined him for a whole season. Then when he finally came back to play his first real game, the Tennessee debacle occurred. If you watch the film from last year you will see he grows more and more confident as the season progresses, culminating with a stunningly brilliant performance against Texas A&M. The kid still has two years of eligibility left, and considering all he was able to accomplish in his first year I think the future in Cali is quite golden.

Of course you expect more. You'd be a crappy fan if you didn't. You just have to ask yourself, what was more indicative of his real play: the 4 game stretch against Minnesota, Portland State, Arizona State, and Oregon State, or the other 8 regular season games?

Is that why Longshore numbers over the last 6 regular season games were worse than the first 6?

Longshore = Clausen

He will do ok but not great.

That "stunningly brilliant performance" was his 5th best game of the year, and wasn't all you're cracking it up to be. His completion % was very good, but he had better games.

Hard to tell at this point, VIA. What I do know it that Oregon St had a good enough D to stop the USC machine. That says a lot. I know, you hate it when I bring up other games. Sorry. Look, I just want it to be Saturday, but in the meantime our debates will have to suffice. I say Longshore is a stud, you say he has a lot to prove and will most likely suck his entire career. You say the Vols win, I say Cal wins... Etc, etc, etc...

You say VIA said things that he never said, etc, etc.

Sorry, I guess he didn't say he sucked. I got carried away. You don't have to take everything I say so seriously you know.

First 6 reg season games: 102/157 65%, 17 TDs, 5 INTs

Last 6 reg season games: 106/196 54.1%, 6 TDs, 5 INTs

And in those last 6 includes his BEST game of the year, the excellent game against UCLA.

They stopped the USC machine? They allowed 31 points! You have no clue, do you?

I hate when people say this. You can't clearly read and you can't clearly make your point, so it's my fault? How about trying to learn how to converse with people.

VIA, please! It is not your fault, it is mine. I am just a real idiot, sorry…:cray:

Hey dude you're making Cal fans look bad by just posting that stuff and leaving. Pull up a chair and talk to us or get lost!

I don't think you are qualified to offer any advice on how to avoid making Cal fans look bad.
