2 Bits,

If Bobcat fans are happy with their performance then I am happy for them and do not begrudge their feelings. Their feelings about their team have no effect on me and my feelings towards UT. You see, some of us do not find it necessary to try and boost our self esteem or sense of self worth by tearing down others.

Face it Two Bits you and Gator nation can call Lane a jerk all you want but it is a fact that Urban Runs the score up anytime he can and leaves Teebow in way longer than he should. Now i would have probably had Teebow in this part of the KY game still but everyone who has watched you guys have said on numerous occasions "why does he still have Teebow in". So you tell me Urban isnt a jerk in his actions maybe not his words but def his actions speak volumes.

I agree with what you wrote about urbie. What left me scratching my head is if Tebow was sick, why was he playing? The only thing urbie cares about is what the box score says because he knows most media types, who have a vote, only pay attention to that.

The original post in this thread only tells one side of the story. You can find just as many OHIO fans on our site (bobcatattack.com) who aren't happy with our performance Saturday.

I'm one of them.

We had our chances to win, but we didn't capitalize. It's really that simple. I wouldn't say I don't believe in moral victories... I don't think Saturday was one of them though. We showed we can play with Tennessee, great. We don't gain (real) respect for the program by showing we can win games, we gain respect by actually WINNING games.

Don't get me wrong... I love knowing we scared 100,000 Vol and Buck fans the last two years sitting inside the stadiums, and countless more watching on TV... It's a great feeling. It hurts a lot worse though knowing we could've done more then give you a scare.

Good luck the rest of the year!

There's one in every crowd. One started this thread matter of fact!

I said "Welcome to Neyland!" to a guy and his wife, and they both said it was awesome coming to see a game there. They weren't setting in our section. We did have a loud mouth...but he was UT fan.

Yeah well, wth was he doing in the student section? Thought his gf went to UT or something, but about the 3rd quarter someone was yelling at him 'Ohio Sucks' or something and she stood up and said, 'Tennessee Sucks!' So who knows. All I know is...the guy was an ass, he was fat, and I hope that's not a true representation of Ohio's finest. And if it is, I won't be making a stop in Ohio anytime soon....haha, who am I kidding, I won't be making a stop in Ohio ever, regardless of this guy.

this

the idea of a moral victory should be nowhere near the subconscious of any coach, player, fan or person associated with tennessee. leave the moral victories to vandy and kentucky. in knoxville, a loss is still a loss no matter how you slice it.

+1 We should not accept a moral victory, we expect to win football games.

I was having to watch the game online and I was wondering why the UT band/fans were screaming the words to Rocky Top while your offense was at the line about to snap the football. Is this commonplace? I was ready to pull out the PS3 controller and have Crompton quieten the crowd.

The timing of some cheers has been questionable all year.

it's because the band is full of people who have no idea about football and start their playing too late. Then the fans don't realize the play is starting and continue singing. It's been happening for a while

I agree, but you have give it to the little guys from the MAC credit to be able to go toe to toe with Tennessee at Neyland.

Yep. They deserve a lot of credit. If only that constipated looking guy in your avatar had the opportunity to give credit to a team with inferior talent coming into his house and playing him tough. Do you think he will ever get that chance?

:)

With this one pointer the first thing a fan thinks about after the media and fan discussion on the UT vs UF game is the moral victory stuff. VN was not alone in this. Many were hoping that UT 'exposed' Florida.

Considering how the airwaves were flooded with these views did any of you doubt that the same stuff would be thrown back on you? The difference is that NOBODY thinks that Ohio is on the right path to catch up with the Vols.

Whatever was gained in PR last week may have been lost this week. That is the only problem. Those that want to hope that the Gators are worse might discount the Vols AND have further 'proof' of weakness regarding the Gators.

Many on this thread point out that the Vols were trying to improve their weakest aspects and develope their back ups. Though that would be reasonable it comes into question by the margin of victory. Now a ten point win would have allowed that. Just saying.

If I was from UF I would not mention margin of victory as a weakness. And you should probably be pulling for UT to win. A loss for us looks bad for you.

Sounds like you have no idea what happens in band. You follow the drum major, no matter what. And his back is turned from the game. Besides, it takes more than a split second to communicate to a 300+ piece band the next song you are about to play.

Yeah, one person represents the entire fan base and state. Moron.

I agree with the earlier post from a Bobcat fan about moral victories being crap. We gave away the Northwestern and OSU games last year, and didn't do much to try and win this very winnable game.

I believe you are giving your team too much credit.

How so? We kicked a field goal on 4th and goal from the 1, called a terrible screen pass on 3rd and long that you picked off and ran in 10 yards for a TD, and then had a TD called back because our guy's foot was out of bounds. To me, 3 major mistakes that cost us the game. Not to mention going for a field goal on 4th and 4 late in the game (and missing it).
