Bobby Petrino now interim Arkansas coach

We haven’t beat Arkansas since 2007, lost to Petrino, Billemia, and Pittman twice. We cannot lose to these bums again

Yes, BUT only 4 games have been played and 3 of the 4 were on the road. 2015 is the loss that really eats at me. That Arkansas team stunk and that was a damn good Tennessee team. To lose to them AT HOME was absurd and easily the worst loss that year by far.

i was at that 2015 Arky game yea that was a really bad loss. I think got up on them 14-0 and sputtered around the rest of the game and lost. One of Butch’s worst losses and he had a few.

It sets up to be a beatdown type revenge game that’s what i’m hoping for anyway.
I’m past the point of predicting a “beatdown” against conference teams. Heupel seems unable to get his teams to play to that level of discipline and execution. I’m just hoping we can be two possessions ahead when time expires.

True. But the “He stumbled and fumbled!” game in 1998, when they had the game won but then handed it to the Vols, paved the way to our NC.

Not in this era because the roster actually gets smaller because guys get a hall pass to start looking for new teams via the portal and opt out so they won’t risk injury.

The idea that Arkansas is gonna be a tougher team rolling into Neyland with a smaller playing roster is laughable.
Where are you getting your info that the roster will be smaller ? Did Taylen Green already make an announcement that he was shutting it down for the year ?Mike Washington , Jalen Brown ? Let’s look at Arkansas offensive totals in 13 days & hopefully we will be “laughing “ but in this moment I am still of the opinion that Petrino as IHC will improve the Arkansas overall Offensive #’s . The great thing about internet opinions is that everyone can have them & this is mine.

I mentioned this a couple of days ago (Stevie Wonder could see this coming) this would probably happen. From a Vol fan perspective IMO its going to be more difficult to beat Arkansas now. Petrino has not forgotten how to scheme up an offense, especially with two weeks to do it. Some here laughed at my suggestion that he would make it harder for us in this one time game for him. Suggesting he was an old worn out former coach. CLEARLY...we are the better, more talented team (especially on defense) however as I heard a VFL say yesterday..."If you haven't fully understood NO GAME WILL BE EASY THIS YEAR in the SEC" then you'll be one miserable fan week in and out. He said there's so many who SAY they understand that but CLEARLY do not FULLY get it. If we don't destroy a Arkansas team in full disarray I can guarantee you we'll have Volnation lit up like a Christmas tree with so much misunderstanding. I can probably say with a fair amount of confidence...this years Arkansas game WILL NOT BE EASY!

I doubt it makes that much of a difference given he's already been the play caller, and offense hasn't really been the problem. Their defense is atrocious and not magically going to improve with their OC taking over.

We need to get Hobbs back for this one. Looks like the secondary is improving as well. Defense just needs to make some plays and we'll be alright.
Bobby as a head coach is very meticulous about preparation - almost maniacal like Saban. Even though he’s been the OC there are things he didn’t have control over until now. While we should win the game in two weeks, the challenge will be a whole lot different than it would’ve been under Pittman. I hope our guys are ready.

That’s the game I knew Jones was not going to be (the) coach to get us to the top.
