Care to elaborate? First what players specifically? Second how Bob direct link? Third how does the few good players not fall into the blind squirrel finding a nut every once in a while?

Phillips, Kongbo, Tuttle, Dobbs, etc. I could list several more. He's not always the direct link, but plays a part in getting them to Rocky Top. Being THE link is not his job. At any rate, he's likely to stay on in some capacity and that is a very good thing. Many folks aside from me say that he is one of the best hires Butch made in his tenure.

Disagree. One man alone couldn't do it. It took took the combined efforts of all the coaches, working together, to take the talent we had this year and turn them into the worst team in the history of Tennessee football.

Too many projects signed during Butch era, too many highly rated guys were flops as well. Welton may not be to blame but it doesn't indicate a strong eye for talent. Time to clean house - everyone knows it. I don't see much if any reason to keep Strip aboard. Rock - that's up to Pruitt. It's tough to judge a S&C guy after 1 year especially when we had an optional S&C program in 2016.

Since Pruitt came from Alabama, i think he will have his own S/C coach in mind. He wants to play the same smash mouth in your face football Bama likes to play. Just trust Pruitt.

Doesn't Rock run S&C for multiple sports programs, not just the football program?

The S&C coach can still have contact with the players during the dead periods, when other coaches can't. There are times of the year he is in charge of the whole program.
