Jaysus Christo !! Will you people please stop glomming on to every bit of coach speak by a guy about to play your team as validation?

If anyone's opinion is irrelevant in a thread like this, it's yours.

The point is not that he said something good about our team, it's that while some think Tennessee has completely fallen out of the realm of relevancy, comments like Stoops' tend to prove otherwise, even when we suck.

Go back to the NCAA forum where you belong.

The good news is Kevin Carter on College Football Live just put us ahead of Mizzou in the east. His exact words "It was hard to decide who to put in that #4 spot between Tennessee and Mizzou, but when it came down to it, it's about line play. Tennessee will struggle in the skill positions, but those offensive and defensive lines will be FOR REAL."

Methinks he may not know anything about the 2014 Tennessee team............

I lol'ed out loud. Dude is trippin

To somewhat paraphrase, "We've been making our non-conference schedule much tougher. We started with Notre Dame and Florida State the past 4 years, now we've scheduled Tennessee and Ohio State, and this is intentional to keep our strength of schedule high."

It's a small straw to grasp, but it's good to hear that after 3 consecutive 5-7 seasons teams from other conferences still see us as a team that is tough to add to your schedule. IMO it speaks to the reputation our program will always have as one of the great college football programs, which is why it's easy to predict that we are still in fact just a sleeping giant.

This is mostly "coaches speak" Most of them say what needs to be said but in a generic way. Other than Spurrier, few sway away from the normal phrases that most coaches use. You know, things like 110 percent! etc.etc.

It is sorta like being in the military. When your commanding officer gets orders to leave, during the Change of Command ceremony they always say " In all my years in the Marine Corps, this is the best unit that I have been in"

Privately, Stoops porbably thinks that Okla homo will beat us by 17! So, I doudt he really thinks of us as tough. At least not yet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give us a few more recruiting classes.

May the karma of the Sugar Vols shine down upon Norman at the appropriate time. We may catch them flat and all doped up.

we are still a name, even though we will probably get beat by 21 or so.
