Bob Shoop officially announced as Vols' defensive coordinator

Super sketchy people! It's not official until he signs on the line. An "agreement in principle" means nothing.

Take 2 weeks off from posting and maybe people will forget you posted something this dumb.

Or make up a story on how your 12 year old nephew logged onto your account.

I'll say it....

BSIA?

There's no doubt Year Three for CBJ was one of growth, learning, and evolution. He definitely took the failures of the first half of the season on the chin and decided to move forward.

DeBord was always going to be an upgrade from Bonehead Bajakian and it culminated in those off-set I-formations against Northwestern. We're adapting to personnel finally; our run game is back in a big way.

Dave Hart has shown some growth too. As Travis said, this is the most respected position coach hire we've made since Cutcliffe. Hart in Year One would have never authorised such a bold move.

If JRM stays because of this hire - there won't be a bigger recruiting coup in the next four year cycle. It will probably help him earn some major bank too.

Right now, Azzani is the weak link on the BSiA. I don't know what is going on with our receiving corps but someone needs to decide on the four receivers who are going to get 70% of the snaps next year and let Dobbs find rhythm with them.

SECCG is a must next season. Play-offs are one break away too.

Great stuff from the entire UTAD.

A legally enforceable, but incompletely specified, agreement between parties that identifies the fundamental terms that are intended to be or are agreed upon.

Translation: Attorneys don't work on weekends

I think it will take more than 1 break to make it to the playoffs. We can tolerate losing to bama in the regular season game but we will HAVE to beat them in the championship game and we will have to avoid losses to everyone else. I am not sure Jones or Deboard are up to that challenge with their play calling or 4th quarter clock management in a tight game. I hope it will be better this year but they haven't shown it yet.

They still have things to prove on Saturday, no doubt. I did see both the team and the BSiA evolve and mature during the season. If we get a break in the SECCG, if DeBord fixes the "throw game" like he did the run game, then we are competing in the play-offs.

That's going to require a full time QB coach IMO.

I'll agree Debord has done wonders to the run game (and I'll eat my crow on that one) but we need someone to come in and coach up Dobbs, Dormady and JG.

We'll have one just as soon as he finishes the playoffs

Welcome Coach Bob Shoop!

Attack style defense, play calling, and in-game adjustment / decision making ability.

Nice hire by AD Hart & Coach Jones. I'm encouraged by this and Scott's hiring and credit both Hart and Jones for their diligence and in stepping up and meeting the challenge.

A new day has dawned for TENNESSEE football. GBO!!

Mea culpa...when this guy's name first popped up, I ragged on him on here as a joke...because I had never heard of him. All I saw when I briefly checked was Columbia, Yale, Vandy, James Franklin, and PSU. Didn't drill down into his production as a DC.

My bad. Been reading about him since then and he really looks like to real deal...maybe the guy to take us to the next level.

So, as the very first VN fan to ever pop off on here without knowing what I was talking about, I apologize.
