Now I officially believe that Tennessee football is back. This is the first time in a long time that a great assistant coach just wanted to come here, without having close ties to the university or the current head coach.

If Shoop was sick of James Franklin, and I can certainly understand why he might be, he could have gone all sorts of places. He chose Tennessee, and that speaks volumes.

Just remember folks, Hypeman, er I mean James Franklin, can recruit but he can't coach. If ever a head coach needed highly capable assistants surrounding him, it is Franklin. Losing a smart guy like Shoop could be a death sentence for Franklin. Shoop is a better football coach than our CEO, JFrank.

I believe this to be true... someone found some deep pockets to clear that hurdle. Unlikely Shoop would reach for that much cash.... even if he did not like the head ball coach.
