So my guess is Martinez and Thigpen are gone. Great hire, just hope he brings recruiters with him.

If UT doesn't pay the buyout, who does? Does it not have to be paid before he is released from his contract with Penn State?

Dave Hart and the AD can sure negotiate. That's trump like skills.

This. All the chatter was that we would be paying $1.3m a year, plus the buyout. $1.15m and no buyout tells me that Shoop wanted on board bigtime.

I hope Hart notices that old Bob likes to move around a lot... averages ~2 yrs per stint. "In principle" might mean they got some contract work to do around this point.

Bob Shoop’s deal with #Vols: 3 years, $1.15 million per year. Tennessee not responsible for Penn State buyout. That’s between PSU, Shoop.

This class will probably close strong but the following years class from
What I hear from players and various coaches could be one of the best of all time.

Best in state talent we have possibly had, right? Doesn't hurt to have a new DC that owns recruiting in the state of Tennessee.

I'm confused about the buyout part. Did penn state just put his buyout under the bridge or what? I would assume penn state would like that 800k unless they did him a favor and said don't worry about it?

This is likely going to be the best thing that has ever happened to KM and KP in a football kind of way. Buckle it up guys.
