I'm not understanding the hype with this shoop guy. I'm not knocking guy or anything,I just don't understand why everyone seems to think he's THE dc to get. Someone please enlighten me.

He took a team defense ranked at 49 to 2 and 14. Immediate and impactful. And his Vandy defenses were ranked in the teens with tough competition and lesser talent to work with. Basically, he's good.

Disagree. And I saw earlier statements about NW and UGA. Yeah? Okay. He doesn't have the defensive talent he would here, and every defense has a bad day. I don't think he would be dumb enough to rush three and have a spy on 4th and a mile and let UF score a TD to win the game. So that's good enough for me.

We need upgrade and shoop ain't it olando, chizek, foster would be my picks,

The point is, he's a better D coordinator that makes it a better shot we do win the 10, 11 games next year. I thought we were going to win 11 next year anyways, but I'm just more confident in that now.

Might be better but no the best!

And if the bad day next year is against Florida and Alabama - will you still be okay with that?

We ranked 124th in 4th down defense this year. Only 3 teams were worse. If that were improved at all against Florida or Oklahoma, we have an extra win or two. There is room for improvement here!

I just followed Jerry Jones just in case.

Isn't it weird for a coach to follow another coach who is on a different team?

I don't do twitter at all but it just seems weird.

I didn't say there wasn't room for improvement - just reacting to the dismissal of the two efforts against NW and UGA as being acceptable bad days.

it is just strange to see some folks on here dismissing 'bad days' when many raked the UT coaching staff over the coals due to 'bad days' against better teams.

I personally have no idea if he is good enough or not. I will leave that to those who are responsible for the hiring to decide.

When coaches on other teams have a bad day it has no affect on their ability as a coach. When a coach is on UT staff and has a bad day means our coaches suck.
