Board of Trustees meeting Friday?

I really hope on Friday a decision is made on DD and the coaching staff as a whole...the past 3 yrs have been a travesty and its time for sweeping changes in the athletic dept and the football team as a whole...please UT send us a miracle!!!

The last 3 yrs have been a travesty???? How about the last 5+???? And cdd and hart are trying to fix it. It's not an easy fix folks. Get your heads out of the sand and to reality...the UT football program and AD have been a travisty for WAY longer than the CDD and Hart eras. Getting rid of an intelligent guy like Dooley at this pt is not the answer. Giving him time to fix it is the answer. Step by step and we will be better for it at the end. Even if after its done being fixed and CDD moves on for whatever reason. A real good hire isnt going to want to walk into this sotuation, so we r going to be stuck with another learn on the job coach that doesn't have the smarts to rebuild. Grass isn't always greener on the other side y'all!!

I feel like im taking crazy pills!!!!!!

You probably need to check the expiration date on whatever pills you are taking ... they might be effecting your judgment IMO. Dooley needs to go ... NOW !!!

I'm in favor of our Govenor firing all the top people at Tennessee and starting over.

All new replacements must be financially intelligent and never waste money on total ignorance, must be FOOTBALL fans, must upgrade to a new player dorm ASAP to help recruiting, must put programs in place to actually educate our kids so they can get real jobs after graduation, must include basics like how to balance a checkbook and understand how compound interest can work for you or can bankrupt you, must understand debt structure and management and did I mention that all board members and top people running Tennessee MUST be avid football fans.

Would Cheek getting fired really cause 1 of the biggest parties in Tennessee history?

I am a lifelong University of Tennessee fan, an avid donor and an alum from the class of 2007. I grew up in East Tennessee and have been attending games at Neyland since I was able to walk. The past five years I have watched the Athletic Department and the University slowly deteriorate. I have still supported the program and done everything in my power to back the coaching staffs, players and admin. But now comes the time where changes need to be made for my support to continue. These changes need to be made for the betterment of the Athletic Department.

Friday you will be voting on the structure of the Athletic Department financially within the University. The specific amendment you will be voting on is below.

Amendment of the UT-UTFI affiliation and services agreement to change the reporting line for athletics departments personnel at UT Knoxville

As the head of the board I hope you realize that the Athletic Department should be a free standing entity within the University with the power to allocate the funds they bring in accordingly. The current structure has lead to nothing but negative results for the AD and the University. This needs to be changed.

After this change is made I hope the powers that be of the University know that we need to bring in a major coaching improvement that can build back our football health. A healthy football program means a healthy University at Tennessee. If we invest in our program we will see that investment pay off. If we make a lackluster effort and investment into our football program we will get a lackluster program and lackluster results financially and on the field.

I want the best for the entire school, state, and University and the changes I have mentioned above are what needs to transpire.

Thank you and I hope you will support these ideas at the BOT meeting on Friday.
