Bo Wallace Was "All Vol"

Outside of the first half vs Boise St., he's been outstanding this year. Playing at a very consistent, high level. Has to come back down to earth for us to have a chance tomorrow imo. When he's good, he's very good.[/QUOTE

Yeah, he was spectacular in the Memphis beatdown!!!!!

Until this year, even Ole Miss fans weren't all in on Wallace. He's an average QB on a team loaded with talent

Others that recently wanted to be Vols from what I have read:

Bryce Petty, Cam Newton, Taj Boyd. Kiffin didn't want them. Pity.

Patrick Willis woulda been nice I don't the Vols even peeked at him..

I know hindsight is 20/20 but if I recall correctly Patrick Willis was a 2 star kid who played at 1A Bruceton Hollow Rock who's only other offer was Memphis. I can't fault the coaches for not knowing that he would become the most feared LB in the world. The talent of small school superstars is incredibly hard to predict. Chris Donald was from a similarly sized school in the same county and was a 5 star and well compare the two

Yep. That's what they always say . . . SEC QBs are judged by what they do to Vandy.

I never said he was bad. I just think it's funny how people are acting like it was some sort of sin to pass on him now that he's gotten to his Senior year and had a couple of good games.

Lol about Vandy. I thought it might come across that way. But Vandy was pretty good last year and that was a pretty big early season game. Now... Order has been restored and Vandy is back where they belong. Eventually, Ole Miss will be back where they belong as well

I've heard stories to, but I'm not sure that we were ever serious contenders for Newton.

Harrison Smith 4 star athlete from right in Knoxville. Yea that one kinda hurt. I always assumed he was just super Catholic. Went from parochial school to Norte Dame.

Yep starting safety for the Vikings.. That's the kid, Fulmer did miss out on some but I think Smith was a legacy golden domer.

Completing 69% of his passes, 280+ ypg, 15 tds, 6 ints in 6 gms. 168.1 passer rating (for reference Peyton's highest rating in s season at UT was 147.7). Memphis game was his worst game of the season thus far, the whole team's worst game.....they came out flat....yet Wallace still threw for 248 yds and 2 tds.

Not really sure what your point is.

You can quote me on this one......

Bo WHO?

I stand by my statement.

1969 was a fluke.... 1968 we kicked their REAR 31-0

PAYBACK.....

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else but read something that said he loved the Vols growing up and would have been a Vol but we never called him. Really irritates me if this is true.

Bo made his grave, he'll now have to lay in it after AJ and company smash his ass!

Go Vols!

If you'd watch any games you would know QB wasn't our problem. I'd rather have Worley than any other QB in the SEC!

As we all know, recruiting is a crap shoot. The strong consensus during Wallace's recruitment was that he was not a take. I don't think there was much disagreement about it. He's turned out better than anticipated, but for every success, there's a failure. I recall DD getting heat for not pushing more for Brian Kimbrow but there were apparently character issues which we now see. It's a crap shoot-you get some right and some wrong. You can't look back and second guess.

Yeah well, nobody else offered him either Irritated one! He went to Jr. College to improve his chances at bigger offer. Old Piss was the one that offered. Who you mad at dude? He was either in Bray's class or the one after, so Bo wasn't getting a Vol offer. Brice Petty and T.Boyd are the ones we missed that hurt! Thank Kiffin and Dooley for that!! Go Vols, beat the s-hit out of Mississippi!

Dooley messed up a bunch in Knoxville, but I don't see how you put any of Boyd/Petty on him...might as well cuss him for us not landing Eric Dickerson.
