It's not unreasonable. While we will have inexperience at PG and PF, which is a weakness, we have tremendous depth and experience elsewhere, and a very talented two deep. If this team jells, it could be an elite eight team or, dare I say it, better?

Our inexperience at PG is Uber talented. Haven’t had a freshman PG like him.

If you’re honest, you’ve been taking shots at him for 5 years?
I did for a while. I haven’t in a while though. Got over that. It’s not a shot, just the truth. If Fulkerson is our best player we’re not going far. And again that’s not a knock on him at all. He’s a very good role player.

Yep, that helps offset the inexperience, but only partially. He'll still be inexperienced early on. What's exciting is that he will be a rising sophomore (almost) when the national tournament starts. This team could jell late and make a run.

Who said “best player”? We need a solid big man amd he is the only proven one on the roster, unless you’ve been head to head with another one and can speak on their capabilities.?

The point of the roster turn-over was to make sure we weren't going to depend on Fulky this season like we did last season.

It seems like we have a solid core returning and we are adding a bunch of young talent. IF they live up to expectations it could be a very good year.

I think Fulky is a good 4 when he has a 5 to play off of.

If he has picked up strength and/or weight he will reap havoc on Kentucky fans hoping he doesn't come back for a 7th season somehow.

Anyone who’s paid attention knows there’s 2 Fulky’s - the healthy one and the injured / recovering one. Problem is the injured one has been 2/3rds of what we’ve seen. The healthy one of 2 years back that was torching the SEC could be our best player. I’m hoping he can go out playing his best ball

If we’re depending on Fulkerson we won’t be top 10. And that’s not a shot at Fulky btw.
Depends on how the guys around him play. If they play well that makes Fulkerson a lot better because teams can't key on him like last season.

High expectations for some. Is this ranking reasonable?

Who knows? We have flipped the roster and have too many unknowns. It’s kind of a rebuilding year. To me, everything depends on how Barnes develops depth by playing players throughout the regular season. By that, I mean a robust rotation of 9-10 players getting significant minutes throughout the season. “Depth” means a strong bench of players you can count on and you’re not afraid to play; it does not mean a bunch of talent sitting on the bench and getting only a few garbage-time minutes. You develop talent and depth by playing players in games, not through practice alone. You may lose some games you should win by playing some of your young talent but this is how you build depth, as I see it.

Unless Barnes has truly changed his approach, I don’t see him playing a rotation of more than 7 players. With that, I’m confident we’ll win 20 games and get a tourney bid. If he has adjusted his risk tolerance and builds a rotation of 9-10, we will probably still win 20 games and get a bid…and we will enter the tourney with more and fresher legs and depth he/we can trust.

Yep, I see it that way, too. He's got a lot of guys to keep happy this year with minutes, so I think it should be more like 9-10 this year. Might solves his tournament woes to have more fresh legs come March.

Chandler is going to make this team look mighty impressive. We haven’t had a point guard since Bone left and that’s what held the team back last year imo.
