decided to sit on the ball with a minute 40 left and tried to run out the clock and punt! I know there are both sides to this arguement but we should have kept playing to the end of the last whistle!
Now, I will follow up and say we might win but I think it was a bad decision to do this.

Thoughts?

no - it was the right call - it would have been even worse to give them the ball back with over a minute - or worse - risk an INT.

a first down would have won the game for us

The big mistake was acting like we'd won the game when a better team got the ball back with plenty of time to whip our a$$. We looked like the immature team we are.

Absolutely the right call. You force them to use all their timeouts, give them the ball with 30 sec and 80 yards. It is easy to second guess, but had we thrown an incomplete pass and NC got he ball back with over a minute and 2 timeouts, Dooley should be looking for another job.

We couldn't have ran 3 plays faster if we had tried. It was absolutely horrible. Dooley choked. I'm not saying sling it around the park but Bray could have danced for 5 seconds and fallen down and it would have been better then what we did. Ever second counts and we gave them 20-25 seconds by doing nothing at all. Coaching staff cost us two games plain and simple.

I agree, the extra point missed caused a trickle down affect that led to our downfall. If made, the decision would have been correct. Since it was missed, we should have gone for at least a first down. It was poor to half ass run the ball and try to run out the clock!
Bad call in my opinion.

Also running on 1st down and play action pass on second everytime in overtime killed us and was a big reason Bray was confused on the int, even when we could not get more than a yard on a run play all night.

We beat ourselves at the end and folded. I agree we should have tried to make the first down when we had the ball with 1:40 left then sat on it. Jackson's "launch" tackle was uncalled for; the late hit that did not get called .... immature; we had a meltdown and the better team won tonight. The officials calls in the last minute of regulation were spot-on.

Still looking forward to next year though.

Regardless, the game was over when the Head Ref called the game over. Anything outside of that is total BS. We won

J. Jacksons hit was an attempt to dis-lodge the ball. The receiever had already caught the ball, so at that point; try to dis-lodge the ball.

This so called late hit that wasn't called is actually not a late hit at all, it was an illegal block in the back by the UNC lineman, therefore a penalty on UNC that wasn't called.
