Not a bad (or great) read.

My take is that he was just looking for a twist for the game week story. Nothing substantial to make be believe otherwise.

Spurrier better win---they are getting tired of his act over in SC. He's lost his edge in big games. UT will win late on a field goal.

I love it. That is our ticket. Steve Spurrier is the guy I have wanted but I didn't say anything. What would be better? The only Heisman winner in Tennessee history even though he was not from the school.

Like the article said you can't recruit down there. Who would want to go to that hot a$$ city with nothing around it?

Give Steve our recruiting and watch us come back to life. He has not been the same at SC because he thought he could recruit down there becasue of who he is but the truth is that nobody wants to play there regardless of who is there.

Bring the ol ball coach back and get his visor ready.

Everyone else is a shot in the dark on coaching so why not take someone who has proven himself over the years.

Come home Steve, Come home:clapping:

Should have hired him when they fired Majors. Way too late now.

There was absolutely no way in 1992, only 3 years into his tenure at his alma mater, that Tennessee was going to get Steve Spurrier from Florida.

I just find it very hard to believe that Spurrier would want to coach at TN. I think the writer pulled this crap out of his arse.

My hatred for the man has thinned now that he is no longer the head Gator... he's a son of Tennessee, I'd welcome him home.

I would love nothing more than to see steven spurrier wearing the orange and white visor next season...of course most tenn fans will say no we dont need him he is washed up but if im not mistaken he is coaching at weak SC and they will never be good...however, correct me if im wrong Spurrier came in to Neyland his first season at SC and beat us with a not so good SC team....he is still very competitive with a terrible team and then you have tenn who has top 5 recruiting classes that barely beats UNI...I really believe steve will come home if given the opportunity and Rocky Top will be back to dominance....

Well said BD15.

He is atleast getting a good DC. They are the top D in the SEC if I'm not mistaken. What a better way to send off our Tennessee boy out with a few SEC Championships!

It probably won't happen. We will go get a Peterson and be a laughing stock. Oh and those recruiting classes won't be in the Top 5 or Top 20 for that matter.

Spurrier or Bust.

At his age, how long wood we have him? I don't think he can fix it in one season.
He'll be 63 when the season starts next year and he really doesn't like recruiting very much. Hiring him would would make no sense.

who cares how old the man is....if all you fans want immediate success then you will go after the guy who has our balls in a clamp and that would be spurrier. he will coach for another 10 years. Why do you worry about recruiting anyways we have top five classes on the field right now doing absolutely nothing....coaching wins football games and spurrier would be just fine in Knoxville with that recruiting budget

Joe Paterno? he is 103 years old.

Bobby Bowden? 99 yrs old.

Spurrier is in his prime haha. But seriously He can give us some good years that we need to make us a top program again.

Yeah he is the coach for a subpar SC team....He does not have the facilities nor the recruiting budget Tenn has. Heck he has been very competitive with SC! Bring him home and bring Rocky Top back to the top
