True but UF is much more important. I'd feel SO much better about 3-1 with a loss to OU than 3-1 with a loss to UF.

Yeah. Also for SEC Championship purposes. I don't think there's much of a chance we lose to both. I firmly believe we will beat Florida this year.

Honestly, I think if we beat OK, we will beat FL. I truly believe that if we beat Ok we will have a 9-3/10-2 year. I know a lot of people disagree and see the FL game as more important, and yeh maybe for the fan base it is, but for the seasons momentum, IMO, that OK game is the catalyst to an amazing season. Again JMO

If we beat OU we beat Florida IMO. That's the only way I consider Florida a for sure win. Because after last year I said I would never expect us to best them again

I've tried, but I can't pump the brakes anymore...I'm buying the hype (just like every year). I'm all in with the optimism and I can't wait for this season. :pepper:

me? cautiously optimistic...so I'll go 8-4. But hey, that is better than quite a few years.

I'm just hoping we can put together a W against Okie. But if I allow myself to dream, trouncing the crap out of them would sure put the nation on notice and give us a good head of steam to build on.

The dark days of the Dooley years have left... Enjoy the sunshine

Right on brother -
Years from now, looking back historically, the Dooley years will be hard to explain or justify to our children and grandchildren.
"something good, this way cometh", and my advice to all,....... enjoy the ride, as this is as real as it gets.

I think the Oklahoma game will be the tipping point for the team, and it helps immensely that we have them at home. A win against them steels their confidence, much like an early Florida win use to, back in the day (they were hard to come by, though).

I strongly believe we has as much, if not more talent on this team, than we did in 98. If you look at position by position, we are strong at every single one, except perhaps, for the OL, where there are a few question marks. Still, I think the OL will be ahead of last year by leaps and bounds, because we really had little to no talent at the OT position. We now have a few talented freshmen who could hold down the position, if needed (Jones and Richmond). Boulware might be this year's Jashon Robertson in terms of being ready to play as a freshman.

I noticed a trend in former power programs...when they suddenly start recruiting in the top 5 or so, in the nation, they tend to make a relatively dramatic resurgence within 2-3 yrs. FSU was just a middle of the road ACC team a few years ago, but Jimbo Fisher raked in a big class one year, and had a nice one the following year, too. Next thing you know, they are playing in the NC game.

Bama did the same thing when Saban came along. They went 6-6, I believe, their first season, but had a few big recruiting classes that bumped them into the NC position in short order. The numbers we took the past 2 years was almost like taking a small 3rd class on loan.

If you honestly believe we have as much or more talent on this team as the 98 team then you are clueless.

By the end of the first 4 games we should know if this team has a chance to be really special or if it's going to have to fight for 8 wins.

9-3 is doable but I think 8-4 is probably where we will be at the end of the year. I would be happy with either because it's showing progression and Butch is taking the program in the right direction. Our recruiting should continue to improve as well.

8-4 would mean we still didn't beat those we hate. 9-3 has to be the base line this season. Anything above that is gravey!

Hey I would love to see the team go 9-3 or better nothing would please me more. We could lose 4 games and still have a successful year. If the OL does well then I can see us going 9-3 plus season.

Remember all BR guys are idiots and their opinions should not be taken seriously. I mean we are UT and picking anything above us winning 7 games means you're a sunshine pumping moron.

It's a little exciting when you hear Felder go, "This isn't the year. Next year, next year I think they're favorites for the CFP."

I'm kinda getting a little numb to Sallee's hype machine, though - saying we're going 10-2 and Joshua Dobbs is a darkhorse Heisman candidate.

Though I hope to General Neyland that Sallee's right.

9-3 from saturdaydownsouth.
However they predicted 4-8 last year so by that we're going 16-0.
O yeah, you read that right. We'll be that good.

ESPN says we win the first four and then lose 5 of the last 8. That means we beat OU and Florida (Thanks ESPN). But then lose to: Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, and maybe SC or UK. I'm guessing they think UK since that game's at Commonwealth. I think this team's better than 7-5. I can see anything between 8-4 to 10-2.
