This was written in 2008, but still applies to today.

That's a good number of coaches that made significant jumps in wins from their first to second years as head coach. One thing that tells me is that the previous coach didn't leave the program in as bad as shape as what it seemed at the time.

One season isn't enough time to get a recruiting class in to make the big enough difference that is often seen in wins and losses

Isn't that about Saban and Meyer mostly? Chizik came later but still neither of those teams had the extreme lack of talent and depth that Tennessee has expirenced because of Fulmer's terrible recruiting and attrition from his firing and Kiffin's bolting for Southern Cal.

Yes, it is mostly about them, but it talks about how the staffs previous to them did not leave the team in bad shape. Felt like it adversely applied to us.

Does it say anything in there about playing the toughest schedule in the NCAA in their 2nd year? How about having mostly freshmen and sophomores? How about 3 coaches in 4 years? How about playing the #1 and #2 teams in the nation back-to-back? How about playing your #3 QB for the majority of the season? How aboout your #1 QB and #1receiver out for most of the year? And VOL fans expect what?

exactly, Every player that worth worth a crap has got kicked off team or quit or transferred. No kid would ever come here if we go ahead and fire dooley now. Look at Florida they have tons of talent and still struggling this year.

Being favored over Vandy at home is just asking way too much of any mortal. What were we thinking?

I'll try not to be surprised, if Kentucky is favored as well. I'm proud of how the team manhandled MTSU. Can we add Tech and Carson Newman next year? If they prove to be too much for an empty cupboard, perhaps Alcoa and Maryville the year after?

To be able to score points in the second half of games, at least a FG or something. Especially against the likes of MTSU
