Today, yet again we saw a Georgia lineman try to take out our players and succeed with Simmons. If Deandre Johnson gets ejected after causing no real harm to Bennett, then a player who goes for the side of someone's knees should definitely be ejected. There's no excuse for it in the modern game, and this is absolutely an issue that the NCAA and NFL should tackle if they are even going to pretend to care about player safety.

This might be extreme, but it should be an eye for an eye. Any player that chop blocks. Should suffer the same fate as the kid he did it to. If it ends his career then the kid that chop blocked him should be kicked out of football. If it only hurts him for a few weeks then the kid that chop blocked him should be kept out for a few weeks. That will end all this chop blocking, and as a added benefit shut down the Georgia program.

I was stunned that a flag wasn't thrown for that garbage.

Typical dirty play from UGa and they need to be seriously punished for that crap.

If a minor head bump gets a kid thrown out then a chop block should get them banned for at least 2 weeks IMO.

VFL...GBO!!

Unfortunately, it was very late and more than a minor bump.

There was a flag thrown for 15 yards--but it should be an ejection. Putting Simmons out hurt our defense badly.

Georgia is famous for this ( Shy Tuttle) and he was never the same after that hit. So they're thing is, get a 15 yard penalty, but in the process they take out your main clog in the front line

Guess y’all have never played against a triple option offense. Every play is a chop block errr “cut block.”

Not the same and if you knew nearly as much as you think you do... you wouldn't have even thrown this out. Intentionally taking a shot at the side of someone's lower leg is not the same as going under their pads making yourself essentially a trip hazard. A cut block is one of the lowest contact blocks there is.

Yeah guess that’s why we magically had knee injuries each game we played GT.

I said there's a difference. I didn't defend what GT or anyone else did/does.

But ftr, I'd have to see a list of the names injured "each game" vs GT.

UT stupidly took an OOC game vs AF a few years ago....

Chop blocks can cause career ending injury and affect the victim’s quality of life. Eject the players AND the coach. Chop blocks are taught.

Why should primarily defensive players be subjected to that level of penalty? Chop blocks are just as dangerous and both linemen involved should get disqualified.
