Thanks for posting that, I wanted to field everyone's opinion about the number of injuries we are seeing to our football team. I know it happens, and sometimes more than others, but it just seems that every year we are hampered by a LOT of injuries. Does anyone else feel that the rate of injury is unique to our team and that maybe Jones needs to evaluate? I have always supported him, but no one is perfect!

Other teams are hampered by injuries too but we don't pay as much attention to them as we do a team that we follow.

CJM had an issue with this in spring ball, finally after a few years he adjusted the level of intensity and injuries went down.

Our injured stem from this past season. We are getting guys healthy for this upcoming season. I know we all want to be healthy all the time, but it won't happen. I'm not seeing a lot of injuries in practice or at least an inordinate amount as you suggest. We had a lot during the season, but that usually happens when you aren't deep and few players get so many reps in practice and game. I mean Hurd played games when he didn't come off the field. The UTC game comes to mind and he battled the flu that game. We have little depth, so normal amounts of injuries freak us out. Calm down, no need to worry. As long as they can go in August is all that matters to me.

Took a year for me to get over 2 broken ribs but I was 55.

Thankfully I didn't have to do a lot at work for a while. Guys I worked with helped me out with anything that strained me. I trued working the night after I did it. I hadn't even been to the Dr yet. I made it about half the shift and had to leave it was hurting so bad. It hurt to breathe much less lift.

Understand what you're saying, but this is still a young football team with a long ways to go to get to the top. I think the thing is Jones and his staff preach physicality for their team, and the only way to teach that is with live contact drills. You're not going teach a player to play with that physical edge just by talking about it. It comes with lots of live, full contact reps. Football is a violent sport, and those guys understand the risks of injury when they step on the field each day. Just my opinion, but I can understand the concern. Seems to me like they are being cautious with returning guys to the field before they're 100%. Really, what more can they do?

Devrin feels your pain!

Must have hit our quota on high ankle sprains and torn labrums.

Now broken ribs and Mono are the new fad injury.

Broken ribs are very painful! Other than pain meds, nothing can be done. I don't think they even wrap them.

I had always thought they did, but the Dr told me not to when I broke mine.

... a few years back I cracked some ribs catching a wave bigger than my ability .. surfboard came back and one of the skags cut my wetsuit and broke 3 ribs ... to make a long story short, took my about 8 weeks to heal up, BUT the best advice I got with cracked ribs was to walk around and hug a pillow all day ... really helped with the pain a lot

I would have thought that with all the surfer girls around you would be trying to hug 2 pillows, if you catch my wave. LOL

Why did you put "broken ribs" in quotation marks?

Why did you put "broken ribs" in quotation marks?

Because I was quoting it from the report. As in not my words. I guess it might have seemed like I could have been trying to imply something by the quotes and they weren't really needed. People use the air quotes so much these days to suggest that what is being said isn't exactly true or what they really mean is somehow different. I can see why you might wonder, but the internal quote from KNS should have made it clear. Sorry for the unnecessary punctuation.

Maybe we should wrap everyone in bubble wrap? CBJ doesn't get it. All that money we spent on the bowl game should've gone toward bubble wrap. Fahr butch jones.
