I do agree with this but...I think it goes much deeper than that. Players have to want to work hard, have to want to get better and we need someone that helps to instill that mindset into them. I think the culture at UT is in a very bad place and I don’t think winning and getting better is priority #1 for a lot of the players on the team. I think having thousands of followers on twitter and just putting on the jersey means they’ve “arrived” to a lot of these players. With that said, it starts at the top and I don’t think we have a very stable direction or vision at the top.

Witch Doctor say no matter whats right or wrong, Sports writers like Adams is just trying to keep a job till he can retire. i.e. The Jerry Springer articles. So Witchy take most of anything out of Knocksville as bad fluff to keep you reading. Covid hit their careers. Witch Doctor say Adams too proud to hold out cup.

It is the indecision over a coach who has proven he's in over his head.

Sports writers and fans just recognize his failure. Do you REALLY think that's lost on the players?

1- Guys will stay if they believe in the next coach. They always do.

2- What vicious comments about players are you talking about? I think some people make it too personal... and that's pretty stupid. No one has played or coached poorly with the intent of insulting some fan on a message board. But when you play or coach for a team that expects performance then you can expect criticism when you don't perform.

3- History says almost all of them will stay. UT could hire some incredible bum that no one wants to play for... but if they hire any of the names being mentioned or someone similar then most or all of the recruits will stick.

Face it. The sports writers and fans did nothing to cause this turmoil. They didn't commit recruiting infractions. They didn't lose 7 times in non-competitive fashion. That was Pruitt and by extension those who hired him.

If you want to be one of those top programs then put your big girl panties on and accept that you MUST set a high bar and enforce it. You CANNOT tolerate what we've seen from Pruitt over the last 3 years.

The team is already being decimated. If it were about Pruitt being fired then they'd wait until he was gone or a final decision was made. The fact that they're jumping with him STILL THE HC... pretty much refutes your whole conclusion.

No, it’s the coach that can’t beat a 1st year coach at Arky, can’t beat UK, and can’t win more than 3 games in year 3, fires coaches 3-4 games in the season, can’t pass the eye test in any way of what a HC is supposed to look like, is undoubtedly in over his head, is not going to get an ounce of sympathy from fans because he is a grade A jerk!

I did not say we have lost recruits because of Volnation posts, but I believe those posts could discourage potential recruits. And, for example, I do not believe the posts are encouraging to Henry T and his family. What I said is some of the posts are poisoning the atmosphere. I stick by that!

Anybody with a brain knows it is not smart to fire the current guy until a replacement plan is in place and no candidate has the support from enough of the power guys to get paid. Really weak field out there. Some of the popular guys with NCAA issues they would not let come for free.

Do you really believe, that recruits are unaware of the product this staff puts on the field without Volnation post or 247 articles talking about it?

Do you really believe all the negative posts helps the situation? I don't know your situation, but if you were a parent and read what some sports writers and Volnation members are saying, would you want your son to come here?

If your a parent and read some negative stuff on VN...........YOU went looking for it.

Parent and players alike have NO business on these “fan” sites........sure they can get on here.......but “if” you don’t want to SEE......don’t look.

I highly doubt ALL other fan bases are only wonderful and there is zero negativity......or possibly it’s everywhere?

This is a horrible take IMO. The only part that’s correct is nobody knows. These writers, ESPN etc have a job to do and that’s report on this stuff and guess what the signs point to Jeremy Pruitt being fired at the end of this. The fact him and his staff have us in this investigation is hurting our recruiting and players it is what it is. Do the fans want a new coach, yes, do we go on message boards to talk about it yea that’s what fans do. No recruit it making decisions based on what message boards are talking about.

I think the OP forgot to put everything in blue font.

We are what our record says we are. That - much like Butch going 0-8 to end his term - does a helluva lot more damage to the brand than paying customers who are pissed that we can’t field a good team.
