Geeez, I saw the title of the thread and immediately thought he entered the portal........glad to see BB hitting bombs with wood bats, hopefully, he's getting some bats against lefties too!!
Dude has just ridiculous power. He’ll be fun to watch next year. He will be so tough to deal with if he can adjust to off-speed stuff. He struggled a bit with sliders at the end of the year, but if he figures that out…..DAMN. He’ll be a Top 10 pick.
He definitely has a sweet stroke. I’m sure he’s working on recognizing the cutter(and waiting for a fast ball up in the zone) and hopefully developing against lefty’s. Clearly…he’s murder against right handed pitching but to be an effective every day hitter he’ll have to evolve in those two areas. All indications are…he will!
If Blake can stay healthy and develop a patient approach at the plate, he will break the current record of 40 home runs in a college career at Tennessee. He may also break the record for most intentional walks. Opposing pitchers (especially right handers) would be foolish to pitch to him. He has amazing quick hands and a beautiful compact swing.
