I guess some folks never played football. There was always a little excitement in picking your number & getting game jerseys. It was exciting when we started putting names on jerseys. I can see how mixing it might get the team excited about something.

Yes we have fall on tough times but will be back. All teams do name one team that has always been good in any sports. But this works for recruirting even Rogers said it in histweets . They care about "swag" now days man lol . Plus help build that homefield advantage for the return to glory years . What do and drunken Jonny got against the black uni's anyway?

What level of competition in sports did you reach? I think you need to have played in a big environment to judge what goes or doesn't go through a players mind or motivates them when they are going into a game.

Ok, where to start. One, well if what they are wearing fires them even more or gives them whatever extra they need to make the plays on the the field, then yes it does matter. Two, I never made it to the large D-1 stadiums in my days as an athlete but i have played in front of large crowds and I can tell you how loud the stadium is DOES matter. I would venture to say most players would agree with that.

Who gives a rats ass what they wear it's a black jersey. Black goes with anything & just about every team has black in their uni whether it's a beloved school color or not. Let it go, times change & it will in no way ruin any tradition no matter what they wear.
