Rumor going around that he's transferring to Furman.
It was also mentioned on a sports talk show radio in Chattanooga.

That stinks.

I was really thinking BJ would have been the real deal. I wish we could see what he could do on the field, no offense to Stephens but he is not a world beater and JC is terrible as we all know. What would it hurt to try him out?

doesn't matter to me he wasnt going to see the light of day. I wish the guy the best it has to be hard to constantly be overlooked just because you are am underclassman. I tip my hat off to him for his hard work in practice.:hi:

I'm thinking the new coach should make finding a big time qb his #1 priority.

i would think Coleman is following the Tahj Boyd rumors, as we are. a commitment from Boyd may be the deciding factor.

I don't know about this one. On one hand he came to UT just because of Cut. It's a wonder the rumor isn't that he's transferring to Duke. On the other hand, he will most certainly get his opportunity here and if he's as good as the hype that has surrounded him, he will eventually be the starting QB here. Not sure on this one, this rumor is as old as Cutcliffe leaving the program for Duke, not sure why it's gaining more momentum now.

I don't understand why BJ isnt' used ala tebow, something to bring on just to get a first down if needed or possibly score. Just one play that the other team couldn't be prepared for, ya know? From what I heard, he's got a really good head on his shoulders but not the best arm, Stephens had that.

B.J. Coleman didn't come to UT just because of Cut. Although Cut was the coach that recruited him, he would have most likely came to UT regardless.

In defense of Stephens. How would you like to play QB behind our O-line? :eek:hmy:

Coleman has the brains, but doesn't have the arm. Stephens has a cannon, and while he isn't as cerebral as Coleman. He isn't a dumbass either.

I don't see Coleman leaving for a Div. II school.

Everyone thinks that Stephens has a cannon but I just dont see it. I dont see his arm strength as that much better then Crompton.

Really?
Really more of a fan of the SEC than Tennessee, Coleman nevertheless developed a man-crush on Volunteer offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe during the camps. "I love coach Cut," Coleman said. "I've been going to the camps and I’ve developed more than a coach/athlete relationship. We have a real connection." Accoridng to Coleman (and a horde of other Volunteer fans), Cutcliffe is "a brilliant, brilliant guy. After the camps, the feeling was mutual, mostly because Coleman, who primarily ran an option attack in high school, showed Cutcliffe that he could adapt to a pro-style offense.......

"It was awesome," Coleman said. "I was so happy they offered. I felt good about my chances because of my conversations with coach Cutcliffe, but I never assumed it because I did not want to be disappointed. I wanted to play for coach Cutcliffe, but I knew if it did not workout then I was going to get to play college football somewhere and I could have lived with that.

The city of Chattanooga is in panic mode... borderline suicide alert.

Coleman would have come here regardless. He didn't have a mailbox full of offers from other top programs. That is the only article that I've seen that said he didn't grow up a UT fan, everything else I've read said otherwise.

I guess you missed my post above. :ermm:

He was a Rivals top 100 player. He would have had his pick of schools to go to had he not committed so early in the process.
