BJ Coleman (Merged)

Coleman has a legitimate case. Both Crompton and Stephens completely failed in a season of opportunities.

Coleman was not picked off, had the best passing stats, and had great composure in the scrimmage. He certainly earned the top spot and was apparently never given consideration. Further, I believe Coleman was a Cutcliffe pick, and Cutcliffe knows QB's

While I agree that he looked fairly good this spring, you make it sound like he was kicked off the team. Kinda hard to feel sorry for a guy that doesn't want to compete. I haven't seen where Kiffin has named a starting quarterback.

Billy G had exactly 0 buyout.

Buyouts factor in but are not the main reason to fire or retain a coach. Heard of a guy named Fulmer? If the university decides to go in a new direction, the athletic department and boosters will come up with the money to executed on that decision.

Clk will not be fired after 2 seasons. That would be dumb and would destroy the program for years.

It really depends on the replacement coach, doesn't it? I'm not saying it will happen, but if a guy like Gruden were available in 2 years and little improvement is evident under the current regime, who knows?

Right or wrong he feels he wasn't given an equal chance, it's not a matter of not wanting to compete.

IMO the whole Cut thing is made to be much more than it is. I mean, who really thought the Mannings were going to be busts? And do you really think BJ was all he wanted or was he just all he could get to come to UT?

I do not know much about this Rozier guy but I do know that a 26 yr old (isnt that how old Rozier is?) is LIGHT years away from a 18 yr old...I guarantee you his decision making skills are far better than what we have now..Think is...if he can throw a baseball in the low 90s (80s now I believe last clocked) I am sure he can fling a football..time will tell but I am willing to give him a chance...Shouldnt we give him a chance before we judge?

I think Rozier is going to be the scout team version of Tebow, Snead, and Cobb at QB. He's athletic and played in the spread and...free.

Exactly. He basically said that he wasn't given the same opportunity or coaching in the Spring as Crompton. He was being set up to fail I don't think that's right and I have never been a BJ supporter.

Proving someone wrong is a powerful thing and can be a positive one, I don't think that leaving proves anything that BJ thought about his opportunity.

He got plenty of reps in practice and scrimmages. He didn't seperate himself from the others. It seemed he was on equal footing to me. The starting quarterback is yet to be named.

Gruden is a dead end street. The only reason he has a super bowl ring is now our defensive coach.

This is truly terrible news. Does anybody remember the imbecile Crompton's terrible play last year. He was easily the worst quarterback I have ever witnessed play above the junior high level. God save the Vols.

I find it truly amazing how a D-1 program the caliber of Tennessee is forced to start the kind of caliber player as JC for two straight seasons.

I didn't like the way he played either but imbecile is way too much when you're talking about a college player.

"Morales". Is that the new kicker?

Sounds like a kicker for sure. g8torhater...sorry don't remember his name for sure....spelled it that way in a post that we were having a discussion in....so I just played on his spelling. But if Lincoln does not pick it up....we could use a Morales kicker.

Please... 2 years with Cutcliffe and all he have in the cupboard right now are Coleman and Stephens?

Is there a lil Reveiz anywhere?:p

I believe that BJ was told that he did not have the arm strength to compete for the job as QB for the Tennessee. Two coaches with both of them having the same opinion of Coleman. I dont care who wins the job and I am sure these coaches will make sure to pick the best one.

Everyone says that J Crompton was a good practice player and bad in the games but that is still better than being bad practice players and in the game like Nick and BJ was last year. Everyone needs to hope it had more to do with the confusing offense than the QBS and hope our staff makes the difference and our QBS will begin to show that as they gain more and more confidence in theirselves and trusts our coaches plan for what they are suppose to do.

How bad is BJ's arm strength? Like really bad?
