BJ Coleman (Merged)

300,000 minus 3. I have not liked B.J. as a contender since he got here. He was a pick by Cutcliffe and essentially a hometown player. What was he a 2* coming out of McCallie?
Who cares he quit, the only reason he was in the mix for a starting job was so Kiffin could create a competitve atmosphere amoung quarterbacks to get the most out of Crompton and Stephens.
BJ, good luck where ever you end up, I bet Duke needs a second or third string qb. Please I beg you, don't come to UTC, people down here down want to have to read your name in the paper either.

Coleman was our best QB option. This has everything to do with recruiting and I think it is a big mistake. He didn't quit without being told,he didn't have a chance.

I think he was a really overrated 4*.

What is the chance that Coleman knows the coaching staff is going in a different direction at QB. Could it have anything to do with this guy Rozier that is coming in this summer?

That might be the most illegitimate post i've ever read on this board (with the exception of those who frequently get banned). Him being from Chattanooga has nothing to do with people watching him play and hearing his interviews and then making an opinion that he was the best of our three QBs. Go look at the board after his interview and see if everyone of those posters who said he was their frontrunner or favorite was from the Chatt area.

Be careful, don’t throw stones in glass houses. BJ being from Chattanooga had a huge impact on why people were pulling for him & why people had the OPINION he was the best QB.

FACT: BJ played for 2 different head coaches & 3 different OC’s…he had is opportunities….HE did not succeed.

He was playing against the 2nd string defense....Crompton would have looked like a Heisman candidate..again opinions. There have been posters here such as pennvol that said that the wanted him to play because he was from chatty and then put down NS because he was from Texas. Who gives a F where the kid is from as long as he can play and win us games...

Kiffin also said the fact that he was playing against the second team D was no different than Crompton playing against the first team D because they had had 2nd and 1st team offenses, respectively, so it was a fair evaluation across the board. Youre the one that said where he was from was the reason people made their decisions about him which is completely false. And no I'm from Knoxville.

Hey 1st time poster....you don't have a clue what you are talking about. It will probably become a reality that BJ could wind up at UTC. UTC needs a boost and having a local kid start at QB could finally fill up Finley. I just have to hope that what happened is best for UT, UTC and BJ.

A heisman candidate?:ermm:

By the way, BJ was playing with the 2nd string offense as well, not sure JC excited many with our best offensive players around him.

I guarantee that he knows the details of the conversation he had with Kiffin and the staff's evaluations...

Not sure he would just up and leave, if he thought he had a good chance to start in the fall. Otherwise it makes little sense.

Our 2nd string defense is MUCH worse than 1st string D. The offense doesn't know who the best players are at most positions so I doubt that its very different.

The Mocs are also short 7 scholarships and are barred from the post season next year, according to a caller on Basilio's show.

That is true they cannot go to postseason for next year. But the new coaching staff has brought in alot of excitement to UTC's fans. BJ would have 3 years left....so you never know. The national championship is held in Chattanooga each Dec. Not saying UTC could ever be in it....but it would be special for BJ to lead the new staff and team.

No doubt he knows the conversation he had with the staff. I was just wondering if it could have anything to do with the new guy coming in.

I now retract my previous post... I don't really care why people were pulling for him it's not my concern. Your point about him not succeeding under 2 HC's and 3 OC's is ridiculous, are you saying that JC and NS did succeed with the opportunities they were given (which were far more in number)?
