BJ Coleman (Merged)

by the way, where is "new vol" ? He was dead on about this. When he was mentioning this, I thought it was insane. Amazing inside info....

He's also another one that said, regarding Coleman:

He is also the one everyone wants to win the job.

No. Just teammates. I dont think the coaches have a favorite as of yet. They want to see what Nick can do. They know he has been put into a bad situation and they still want to give him a fair shot.

this is just disturbing....I now have some real concerns about Kiffin and next fall. Expectations just sunk tremendously.

lol please. BJ fans can't accept that he might not be the chosen one after all.

Kiff has no reason to start Cromp over BJ unless *gasp* BJ just isn't as good. This may be hard to take for way too much of the fanbase.

only 1 man's opinion really matters. The rest are just observers

I see your point but I wasn't talking about the fans necessarily... I think the players opinions matter greatly and while I think that them being distracted by this is going to do nothing but hurt the team, Its something that needs to be addressed and cannot be simply disregarded

Dude. Seriously?

You? Mr "never say thug cause I'm offended"?

Get a clue.
If someone is mugging or assaulting people on the streets, that is a thug. I take issue with people calling young men "thugs" because they have tats and dreads. But lets get back on topic, since you for whatever reason chose to insert the thug comment...

You are a hypocrite. If you would rather have choir boys than championships, then you need to publically denounce the 1998 championship... right here... right now and say that it is tainted.

If not, then don't bother jumping on your sanctimonious high horse and ruin a thread by going on tangents about "thugs".

I just don't see how losing a QB that many people saw as a starter and a great asset to the team overall will in any way make the other two qbs better or help the team (at least this upcoming year)... Seems like some people are just glad to not have SO much of a qb controversy even if it means we lost possibly the best prospect.

I look at it like this, it has been reported that coaches from the previous staff as well as this one say that none of these qb's were a real legitimate SEC quality player. With that being said losing one of those three, even if you believe he was the best option, is not a huge loss in the grand scheme of things, except for depth purposes. After all if was any better than Crompton it wasn't by much, so what have we really lost? A QB that was only slightly less mediocre than Crompton?

I'll buy any football tickets you might have then.

I'm not going to sell tickets, but just a bit skeptical now. I just really wonder what both sides of the story are now. Did Coleman really get a fair shake? Did Coleman lack the toughness that Jerry Colquit had to sit through 4 years on the bench?

yeah!! now we have a leaderless bonehead as our field general...

Seriously ....drop the BJ man crush...Just because Nick is from Texas dosent mean that he isnt a good qb. You even stated on here a few days ago that you were behind BJ because he was a Tennessee boy...Like I said before..The most talanted qb needs to play and I do not give a $hit what state the guy is from.

Sorry to inform you that a pretty significant percentage of the population have perpetuated and cultivated that image, exploit it for money, and young men across the country eat it up and emulate it. Whether you believe it is offensive or not is irrelevant, your anger is misdirected, you should be blasting them not the people who call it what it is.

Stephens will start like I've been saying for a while. So this isn't a big lose.

It is if he breaks something, oh wait he has done that already. I hope Stephens stays healthy, not confident at all with our other options.

Seems like too much praise for the QB in the 2009 system.

He takes the ball from the center and gives it to a halfback, sometimes going right, sometimes going left. Sometimes he may need to pitch it. Every now and then, he throws one deep and high enough that either a fleet-footed receiver runs under it and scores or it's as good as a punt (maybe better as we don't have a Colquitt punting this year). The 2009 offense is not that complicated.

I say we take a chance on Munchie Legaux. Send CEO down to the Bayou and bring him on up. Heck, we need to take a chance on someone. Scroggins is hopefully being contacted now that the dead period is over and you gotta love Munchie's name!!!! GO VOLS!!

Do you honestly think that BJ was capable of scaring off a top qb? Hardly. I think BJ floating this crap to justify quitting on the team. I dont care how you want to rationalize it, he quit. If he truly valued team above self he would have stayed. What happens if Crompton is injured? We certainly cant turn to BJ because he selfishly rode off into the sunset. A leader? Hardly.

Ok say he is only slightly better than a mediocre Crompton (who i'm assuming you have as QB1), we still just lost the best option for this upcoming fall.

I'm sorry but I just don't think the coaches wanted Coleman to quit. If for nothing else than depth at the position. I think they weren't convinced that he could get it done at this level as the starter, had a truthful discussion with him, the truth hurt and he bolted.

Don't you usually jump all over people for typos?

I bet he isn't going to UTC..I bet his tail will be on a plane that lands somewhere close to Duke.. I bet Cut is all over him..Either way I wish him the best..I sure do wish he would have stayed though,,,

:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Sorry. It took me a while to stop laughing.

Sanctimonious? Did you have to look that up?

You've been here long enough to know that I don't care if you've smoked weed but I do have a problem if you watched your cousin being raped.

That being said, this has nothing to do with either. If our coaches don't think you're going to be a good fit then you're better off knowing and making things better for yourself.

Get off you hobby horse and listen. You might learn something.

Well Said...100% Agree

BJ is gone lt the healing begin. There wasn't this much crying when D-MO, Creer, or any of the others left.
