BJ Coleman (Merged)

I think a bomb just went off in 'nooga. It will be interesting to see how the fanbase reacts to this.

Use 4 running backs with a direct snap offense. Whoever plays QB will be a glorified hand-off guy anyway.

So if Kiffin/Chaney/Reaves didn't think that Coleman had a legit shot at starting... they should deceive him?

You think that's better?

I agree with your thinking. Whether we agree with him or not; Lane and the staff obviously don't think Coleman is going to play. So, there is no reason to keep him here to just sit on the bench. I, for one, liked Coleman, but I definitely like the honesty that the staff is using with the players that they don't think are going to make it.

Rod Wilks will get the job...

Obviously Rod Wilks doesn't want to play QB. Otherwise, he'd already have the job.

As for Coleman...what a woman!
Suck it up boy, and hang in there. Crompton will hang himself soon enough. Just keep plugging in there, and win the job like it's yours. Don't just quit!

I sure hope this Rozier kid can get back in the swing of things quickly!!!

Someone in this situation is an idiot. It's either the coaches or Coleman. Take your pick. I could care less which one you choose.

I may be alittle sensitive on this one.....but again in no way is BJ and idiot. The coaches.....as they have with other players helped BJ make his decision plain and simple. BJ had no choice....so how can knowing he will never get a chance possibly make him the idiot? He has given it everything he could possibly give. You will never find a more dedicated player than him. That must have not been enough for this staff. But no sir....he is not an idiot....quite the opposite.

I'm talking about their QB situation and their subsequent season.

oops gotcha :hi: Still would take a whole lot of things going wrong to happen to another team. I believe their QB's were injury prone where ours have only had 1 injury

I hate to be the one who posts this since I am a very strong Kiffin supporter, but it is about right now that I sort of wish Taj Boyd was coming to the Hill this fall.

Forgive me for posting that.

Boyd would not have been playing for us this season anyway.

Let's see potentially third-string, several walk-on QBs, a stud or two coming in the '10 class. Sounds like he felt he wasn't going to have a shot to play and knew it. Far from an idiot.

Then that makes the coaches idiots.

Wow. Is there anyone with a set on this team?

Kiffin and company must be thinking that they will definately be getting a top QB prospect in th upcoming class...

Sounds like they are clearing room to make it more appealing to one.

If anyone want to hear....sports talk wgow 102.3 in Chattanooga is on now....4-7. this will be all they talk about.

I agree it is not good news....in my mind he is 2 fumbled handoffs, a couple of INTs, and a few worm burners away from being the #1 QB....that could happen in the first half of the first game of the year.

It will be interesting to hear some of the details of his meeting with the coaches. I cannot see how Crompton can run this team at a high level of proficiency....so Nick better step it up.

Finally.....either the fan base is sooooo clueless now and apparently last year, that we cannot see the talent/leadership/attitude/vision that Crompton brings to the team....we are going to either be schooled or....never mind, I won't go there.

Well I guess next year if Crompton blows, Stephens blows, and Rozier blows, we can bring up the old "G-Gun" debate.

We all already know that Crompton will blow, that's an understatement. I hope this staff wakes up and realizes that Crompton doesn't perform well under pressure. He threw more INT's in Spring than the other two. Plus, he stunk it up all last season. This is gonna hurt, BOOK IT!!!

I'm glad you said it first.

Yeh... while I'm on a roll, I have to wonder if we're desperate enough to put up with Mitch Mustain. That's a lot of baggage, but if CPC was going to release him, CLK could be one person he'd consider.

And, even though Mustain doesn't know Peyton played 4 years of college football, the idea of contributing two years and moving on, could fit still fit with recruiting a super Frosh next season.

Okay. I'm done with bad thoughts for the day.

When was the last time UT only had 2 QB on their roster this late into spring? I know Rozier is coming, but who the heck knows what he will bring to the table.
