per Doug Matthews on 104.5 the zone. He said he has heard too much from too many people. BJ will not be at Tennessee next year.

That is interesting in light of the Chattanoogan article in which BJ scoffs at that idea.

OTOH, I think he'll have to think about it after the season.

So he's saying Coleman is lying in this article from today?

It’s never been a secret that former Vols offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe was a big reason why Coleman signed with UT. Now that Cutcliffe is the head coach at Duke and Coleman is temporarily locked into a third-team role, unsubstantiated rumors are circulating that Coleman could transfer.

Coleman laughed at that suggestion.

“You know what? I really do feel good here,” Coleman said. “I’ve always said that you have to be very thankful where the Lord has put you. He’s always got a plan for you. When the time is right, everything will fall into place.

That's what happens when fans get into a negative feeding frenzy. They lose their grip on reality and are prepared to believe... and spread... anything that rationalize their negativite presumptions of doom.

I trust Doug Matthews more than a reporter when it comes to Vol info. But I would like to know the context. Perhaps Doug just said that given all the facts he knows that is the most likely scenario?

I am still listening now. Doug said " I have heard too much from people who know the situation, that there's no way BJ will be here next semester" exact quote. I know Doug doesnt know everything, but he's right more than he's wrong.

If you're so upset that you didn't win the job as a RS freshman with bad footwork that you are contemplating leaving, I don't want you in Knoxville in the first place.

That being said, I still have my doubts that Matthews actually said he's gone. Probably did say something along the lines of "If I'm BJ Coleman, i'm gone"

even when it comes straight out of BJ's mouth?

i not saying either guy is right or wrong, but when the kid himself says he's not leaving, i'll believe him until i hear him say otherwise.

deeble, doozer, etc.

I am looking at the quote:

“You know what? I really do feel good here,” Coleman said. “I’ve always said that you have to be very thankful where the Lord has put you. He’s always got a plan for you. When the time is right, everything will fall into place.

I do not see the words "I am not transferring" or anything close to it.

I though about that as well before I quoted it. There is no "I am not transferring", but I thought he sounded convincing enough.

I went to a camp at Mccallie Coleman's senoir year and asked him about it and he said he had always wanted to play at tennessee AND for Cutliffe

If Coleman isn't going to play here and isn't going to be a pro, he should probably head to Duke if it's available to him.

You see, here's the problem. IF Coleman wanted to say that there is no way he is leaving, then all he had to do was say so. Notice that HE DIDN'T.

He sounded convincing enough? :eek:lol:When people are vague in their statements, there is usually a reason they're being vague.
