This isn't a bashing thread against Worley, Butch, or the offensive coordinator. The truth is 5-7 is very possible just as 7-5 is possible. I say this because Kentucky is not a team to overlook this year. In my opinion we can hang with every team on our schedule but if we can't run the ball, protect Worley, and capitalize on our takeaways then 5-7 is very achievable. I do hope for some better play calling though.

The biggest problem with play calling is the "read option". It is only effective if there is a chance the quarterback keeps it. Even if Worley gets tackled for a loss it will help open up the middle for the runningbacks in the future.
The play action pass doesn't work unless there is a chance you may actually run the ball.

I think all that you said is correct, but we need to recognize that 4-8 is also a real possibility. We can beat no one with a pocket passer when there is no pocket. It doesn't take much film study to see that our young tackles can easily be confused by pressure. Trying quick throws didn't work, because we shrank the field to a 10-yard box and wasted our outstanding WRs. This may be a long, long year. However, I can see the progress CBJ is making, and I think 2016 is going to be a heck of a year. There is just no miracle that will erase the slate left by Phil's last 5 years, Kiffin, and Dooley.

This is absolutely correct. The read option needs to be taken out of the Playbook if the qb never keeps the ball. The purpose of it is to give the qb the option to keep or give the ball.

Any team with a decent defensive back fielding, will shut down our run and beat us. 5 wins is all I see. Progress is slow and painful. Especially when you take a step backwards.

That and getting to cute with your play calling.
It sucks that we can't line up and just man block for a few yards
Having to throw the ball on the goal line is sickening

The biggest problem is not enough seasoned players 6 freaking seniors are all we are playing. You have to have backups.... heck we are playing our backups as starters.

Worleys passes are predictable...too much of a wind up on this throws...screen pass takes forever to get there so dbs and linebackers are already there....scared to run at 21 years of age....can't throw a bomb accurate to save his life....his players are still doing 360's just to catch his balls...no vision...happy lead feet...and never acknowledged its his fault....people keep saying is doing a great job...ha ha ha...how many red zone picks has he thrown this year compared to touchdowns...not so good.......butch jones must be screwing worleys mother to keep him in games....DOBBS is the better choice...always have been....TO ME WORLEY IS NOT GIVING HIS ALL...HE AINT GOING PRO...SO HE NEEDS TO SACRIFICE HIS BODY NOW FOR THE TEAM......

Jennings is licking his chops! A good dual threat QB would take this offense to a different level. If Dormady can run we are in good shape.

With the personel we have, the "I" is what needs to be run, TE/FB in the backfield lead blocking and coming out of the backfield for passes. Large gaping holes for Hurd to run thru after TE/FB blows up LB. It's not rocket science to mesh offense with talent or maybe it is.

Butch and Co. have foolishly and stubbornly tried to shoehorn their offense onto players incapable of executing it effectively. That has been and continues to be a large part of our problem.

Well atleast we can say we are seeing improvements in this team. There is a lot things that are frustrating to see happen on the field but there is also major progress happening (The defense is a lot further along this season than expected.) but this is what was to be expected this season a lot of highs and a lot of lows. You just can't expect the offense to be consistent when teams are getting 6 sacks a game on you. Worley has been taking a beating all season long and unfortunately he is going to keep taking it in every game we play in this season. GBO! and beat those MOCs!

Hush your mouth.... Worley cost aj Johnson a chance at ever beating Florida with his bad play...Worley has the option to change the play at the line but doesn't... I see corners walking up to the line all the time but Worley doesn't..stares down every receiver...the only thing I notice Worley is doing better at is not throwing dirtballs all game long.....

After six years, it may be time to quit blaming CPF for where we are today.

I think they have been protective of this offensive philosophy. I wish they were willing to adapt to the talent available. If not entirely at least have a few packaged plays a game to show a different look.

Through 5 games...Worley has only 10 tds....1239 yards passing...3 dirtballs...14 overthrows..5 picks....minus 129 yards rushing

Or the middle school line we have. I'd say your wrong and I'm right.
