Bitter Enemies

there have been rumblings that Saban tried to counter-offer Thompson. I don't know if it's more/less credible than the story about LSU trying to counter-offer Orgeron.

It's so ridiculous to take cheap shots at Pete Carroll.

He built a winner. I saw him on (60 Minutes?) and he was going into neighborhoods unprotected to speak with gang members. He has done so much for that city and those people. You can hate the culture/fan base, you can envy them for winning---but taking shots at Carroll, when all he's done is win and try to help out unfortunate people in that community, it makes me sick.

F Bama. The Bear's not walking through that door and Saban's going to be gone before you know it. Do those nits really think he's going to give 15 years of his life to that town and that university? Puh-lease.

I actually wanted us to go after Mike Shula for QB's coach or something. Who wants to beat Saban more thant he Shula's?

This is a great day to thank the powers of the universe you weren't born a Bammer.

"Kiffin won't be there after 3 years. Tennessee won't stand for the losses, as shown by the firing of Phil Fulmer, so after losing to Bama, Florida, Ga, LSU, Kiffin will be fired. The best recruiting in the world is not going to stop a player from going to Bama or Florida if that is where they want to play. He can't cheat like Pete Carroll at USC because he would get caught. RTR!"

With the naming of his son Knox, CLK is in this thang for the long haul!

Saban will coach the Cowboys eventually... He'd fit right in..

Did I hear that on VN or did I just make it up... heh heh

That's actually a depressing thought, because I've been a 'Boys fan ever since I can remember.. However, no more depressing than the Cowboys were this year...

Nothing on Earth sums up stupidity, like those three letters.

I get the feeling Thompson wanted the f out of bama. He also probably knew that asking Saban permission to look elsewhere would just get him fired.

People are figuring out what a jackass Saban is, and it will get tougher for him to find talent to work for him. Saban was lucky to find a fanbase as desperate to win as bama. Only they could accept him for what he is. He will probably go to Notre Dame next.

Jerry Jones doesn't want anyone that will challenge him. Hence Gailey, Campo, and Phillips. Plus his exit from the Dolphins will probably confine him to the college ranks.

You're right about Jerry.. He wants a 'rubber stamp'.

Right on, I knew a few people that speculated about Cowher to Dallas and I laughed at it for that very reason.

Wait a minute.

Lance Thompson lived in Tuscaloosa Alabama and coached for Nick Saban at the University of Alabama. He had a ticket to take a job at the University of Tennessee to work for a rookie head coach and live in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was offered more money not to punch that ticket, but he punched it anyway.

Who in the sports world outside of the state of Alabama would not punch that ticket?

As the guy said on the beer commercial, "Brilliant!"

It is really funny just how small the world is around Bama football. Most of us do not believe in the second coming of an old alcoholic, chain-smoking cheater whom they call a legend. And it is obvious that some of the people that go there do not believe it either.

How damn delusional are you? Do you think that Kiffin is going to stay in K-town that long? If so, I will go ahead and start planning an intervention for you because you are on some freaking hardcore drugs and you need serious help.

I don't think he said that. He simply pointed out that Saban wouldn't be in Bama very long. And if you think that Saban will be in Bama more than a few more years, you need the intervention.

If Kiffin moves on, it will most likely be because he has built this program back up, and started kicking Bama's ass every year like Fulmer was doing. I can live with that.

And how do you know how long ANY coach at ANY university is going to stay there? If he is successful at UT he wont be taking any other college job.....and after working for the Raiders, I highly doubt he is itching ot get back in the NFL....but who knows??? Certainly not you or me.

Reading comprehension certainly isn't your forte.

But I will give you credit for being able to read...you are in the top 1 percentile of your fanbase. Impressive.

Keep up the good work....

Occasionally I come across a rival fan bashing UT on all of our great hires and I can't help but laugh.

"Congratulations to college football's most classless, underhanded University athletic football program in the nation, The Tennessee Volunteers. The protocol for recruiting another university's coaching staff is to ask for permission to interview. You ask for it when someone else shows an interest in a member of the UT staff! But not Big Orange, no! I hoped things would change with Phil gone, but the UT football athletic program has shown it is rotten to the core after all."

"Shame on you, Lane Thompson. They (Kiffins) threw you a bone; the rest of the S.E.C. hope you choke on it."

You just raised my opinion of CLK. Anytime we can upset a bammer fan, I am so happy.:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

You are a terrible person LT, you took a job that doubled your salary. No bammer fan would ever do that, but then again that would require an IQ.

Most of the people talking crap about CLK and his hires are bama fans. LMAO they are the best when it comes to stuff like these I haven't ran into a lot of Gator fans talking smack. It's mostly just Alabama fans
