Yep, AK is special but I see opportunity for Thomas this year. Completion rate to RBs is high, more targets to RBs certainly would help whoever is our QB.Nothing wrong with optimism, but I think that may be a stretch. AK's don't come around very often.
The brought him in to keep Bishop fresh through a 16 game season. We need a 3 man rotation and we are gonna get it this year. They brought in Star for a reason. Not just depth. Star didn't sign to be a bench RB. He looked best RB in spring game. All rbs are quality.
I’ve seen Thomas play in person 3 times. He doesn’t have that twitch. His style is more in line with an Arian Foster type of runner. That doesn’t mean I think he’s the same level of talent, but the way he runs reminds me of him.Yep, AK is special but I see opportunity for Thomas this year. Thomas is in his first year with the program after spending a season at Duke. Prior to that, he played at New Mexico State and at the junior college level. In 40 career FBS games between Duke and New Mexico State, he has racked up 2,044 yards on 433 carries and 16 touchdowns. He has also caught 54 passes for 504 yards and six touchdowns.
AK had 74 catches for 683 yards with 7 TDs.
Per me as well. If he knows his assignments, I think he will eventually become the lead back. In the limited carries he had last year, I thought he had the highest ceiling of anyone on the team for the long term. I think he’s going to be very good. Also helps when you’re the fastest guy on the teamPeyton Lewis is the best of the bunch…. Per me.
I was really talking about was using ST as we did AK in the passing game. ST seems to have good hands as does Duane Morris.I’ve seen Thomas play in person 3 times. He doesn’t have that twitch. Could be, but we have no clue about how any of them perform under game conditions. How do they protect the QB, how do they read the defense, how do they react to a broken play? I believe we have 3/4 RBs who can run well with the football, but that is just one part of their responsibilities.Peyton Lewis is the best of the bunch…. Per me.
