Bioshock Infinite

I like it. Not a huge departure from the others at its core but it's an interesting perspective. I'm not as in awe at Columbia as I was at Rapture, but it's a really cool and wacky setting.

Yep, it's Bioshock in a new city. After an hour or two of playing last night, I like it. I like the brightness of the new city and not being in some dungeon/sewer system/dark caves/etc. like many shooters. The city and story appear top notch so far.

At the core though, the game isn't much different so far. I only have the first 2 "powers" so far, so not real sure what they have up their sleeve there. And, so far, there hasn't been a hack option on the vending machines.

Supposedly you can use Possession on the vending machines for a similar effect. I haven't tried it out myself, though.

I thought about that last night right before I turned off my game. Didn't get a chance to try it though. Thanks for reminding me.

I watched a guy playing some of this last night on a live stream (gotta love no sleep in college). The game looks beautiful, and that was through a capture card. Plot seems decent so far. I might have to pick it up myself

Just bought this bc it comes with bioshock 1 also, so I went and bought 2 while I was at it.
Playing the first one now and it's really good so far

Damn, I was just there. I didn't know about the deal to include the first game.

Yep, I was about to buy the collection that included the first 2 for 30$ but the guy showed me the first came with Infiinite and that the 2nd was just 10$ so it saved me money in the end

The first one's download is 12gb it isn't a code though so it's off the disc which is faster than typing in a promo code and downloading through the Internet also. Took me maybe 30 minutes

I think this game is a better experience than the original Bioshock. Never thought I'd say that.

I do have several gripes with it. It has a checkpoint saving system that is just completely outdated, and there is no reliable way to tell you when the last autosave was other than actually clicking on the return to main menu button. Then you find that the last save was 15 minutes ago and you have to press on until you get to another checkpoint.

The way the weapons are handled is also poor IMO. You can only carry two guns/launchers at a time and you can go through quite a few levels without even seeing a lot of them. It's realistic in a way, but also limiting to the point of frustration, especially when you've bought upgrades for a particular gun and then can't find it again. There are no different ammo types like in the originals, either - it's not a big complaint but there are some particularly bullet-spongy enemies where they might have come in useful. Combat still isn't too difficult thanks to the skyrails, the vigors (which are really cool), and the tears.

The narrative is where it really shines, even if you may not realize it fully until the end, where it hits you like a ton of bricks. There's a good cast of supporting characters, but the main focus is on you and Elizabeth. It doesn't feel like an escort quest at all, because she's pretty much indispensable in terms of both gameplay and interaction with the world.

The game is crazy good!! I love that it came with Bioshock 1 and I already downloaded Bioshock 2 for free with my PS Plus subscription. So now I have all 3 Bioshocks and I only paid for one of them! :)

Played for an hour with my PS+ free trial, pretty good. I like the story so far, hoping it tops the other Bioshock's.

I finished this game over the weekend. I think it's the best one of the series. Loved the story; I kind of figured out the big twist before it happened but it was still cool.

I wish they've release the story driven DLC already.

I respectfully disagree - I think this one is the weakest of the 3...everything felt rushed with Infinity...

the plot was heavy handed and overly convoluted; it tries to deliver important info and dialogue at the worst times (i.e. when all hell breaks loose).... the game didn't have the same creepiness and dread of turning a corner as the first one.

Give me Rapture any day over this one.
