Billy Clyde Beats Us And The Rumors Start

given the history of UK and they're basketball insanity, then I have to believe it's possible that they keep him no matter what he does short of murder

I don't think this would ever happen. Knight has a deep hatred for the UK basketball program.

He had a deep hatred for Joe B. Hall and the way the UK program was run under Hall and Eddie Sutton. Knight despises all cheaters, and he relished beating teams that he knew were cheating.

He made his peace with UK once they started making an effort to abide by the rules. Lou Henson at Illinois was another example of this. They started out as friends, then Illinois started cheating and they feuded for years. When Illinois stopped cheating, Knight made peace.

Knight likes to consider himself bigger than the program...no way he could make it at KY

Yeah, because we all remember how an egomaniac like Rick Pitino failed so miserably in Lexington.

:eek:lol:

Isn't that the truth. Kentucky was the perfect place to. The fed that ego until he was so full he had to go back to the NBA.:good!:

I am a paying member of CatsPause. You are not telling the truth if you say you copied and pasted from there. Show me the link - if not, I wonder why you cannot tell the truth!

RP had style and I think that fits right in with the Derby bluebloods, whereas Knight just crass. Big difference.

couple that with the fact that he gets zero style points..it's time to let the sweater go Bobby.
you misunderstood me, I'm afraid. He's rough on the media, but he's the best coach in the land. He's no longer going to recruit the best because he's unwilling to pander, but he's the best, IMO.

disagree 100%, to say he's the best coach, imo, would mean more than X's and O's. He has to be able to rep the university. Bobby is not someone I would want representing UT, period.

Yeah, it's better to have a guy painting his chest and having a miserable career graduation rate representing the university than a guy whose players get degrees and would probably raise several million dollars for the library.

funny how you fail to mention the physical assaults along with raising money for the library

also you seem to have alot of respect for a guy that quits in the middle of a season. nice message to send to his players.

For three decades, Bob Knight glowered on Indiana University's sidelines as college basketball's Wicked Stepfather. He stuffed a belligerent fan into a trash can during a Final Four. He berated his team's cheerleaders for distracting an IU player during a free throw. He head-butted one player and kicked another—who happened to be his son. In the end, he self-destructed, as so many predicted he would, fired amid allegations of choking a player, throwing a vase at a secretary, and breaking another son's nose and dislocating his shoulder during a hunting trip.

but, hey, if he can raise money for the library....

If you call that letting the media do his thinking...... where there's smoke, there's a raging inferno....pretty well documented history I must say

with the absolute sensationalism that is the modern media, more often than not, the smoke is the start of an elaborate series of fact omissions, half truths and outright fabrications.

except that Knight then holds a press conf in which he admits his culpability in whatever situation believing that he doesnt have to answer for his actions. Typical Bobby Knight arrogance.
