Bill's Baseball Thread [Experts ONLY]

Valenzuela‘s death hit me a little bit. Fernandomania was awesome. It really took over the baseball world and was must watch tv.

Even disliking the Dodgers you couldn’t help rooting for him.
I remember my aunt and her boyfriend were huge Braves fans then. They lived in Florida. This was when WTBS was in the process of becoming the "Superstation" and airing all the Braves games.

I remember them talking about "Ferdinand" and dreading when he was pitching, so it had to be early 80s.

I was not aware that he had died until I saw it here in the zone. I knew his health had taken a turn for the worse here lately. RIP

Yep.

I was happy to hear the news that he is selling the Earthquakes.
There's still soooooooo much uncertainty about the Vegas site. If you saw the "groundbreaking", the construction equipment in the background were nothing more than rental props. Anticipated costs are already 1/4 billion more than first reported and most think it'll go from 1.5B originally to north of 2B.
