Bill O Brien is a really good football coach. Please read his whole coaching Bio. He would do great here if he put his heart into this job. In CHRIST Alone

If Tennessee ever hires Adam Gase as Head Coach I’ll disconnect from UT forever. He’s a legitimately terrible head coach.

Based on what the fact that in his two coaching stops his teams improved by a total of 7 games over the previous year? Articulate why he’s such a bad coach.

No chance for O'Brien.Bad coach with bad player relations.Got rid ofthe Arizona receiver who lit it up this year and every year he played.

Love this place when it starts talking NFL. Hopkins was just pretty good this year and the Texans offense didn’t miss one beat.

At least the first two names would definitely listen if we call them for HC job and would be a good hire too (not Urban Meyer great but definitely good hires) .. Adam Gase is a good name too but not sure how he would do in college but id the dude is interested in OC job at Alabama, he would love being HC at TN !!

My pick would be Bill O' Brien but would be happy with Doug too .. but oh wait, we havent fired corn bread yet and Phat Foolmer will never hire anyone of caliber here ..

No to all three!

Ok, in year one he improved the Dolphins by 4 games and the Jets by three games. How did he do in the subsequent seasons? I mean after all his career record is 32-49. He’s considered an offensive guru yet his offenses have been absolutely dreadful in his five seasons as a HC:
2016-17
2017-28
2018-26
2019-30
2020-32
And finally, why have some of his more high profile players, improved by leaps and bounds once they’ve gotten away from him? Ryan Tannehill, Devante Parker, Robby Anderson, and Kenyan Drake have all seen their careers take off after no longer being coached by Gase.

We’re not going to fire Pruitt as fans and neither will the university. Stop the nonsense

I would be happy if we didn't hire any of these dudes. They all seem extremely uninspiring, and aside from O'Brien (who was alright at Penn State and shepherded them through a probationary period), I just don't see how they come here and win on the recruiting trail.

Oh, you were terrible in the pros? Man, that makes me really want to come play for you...

Not defending any of these guys but Pete Carroll was terrible in the NFL before he went to USC.

On the other hand, there have been other mildly successful NFL coaches who went to colleges and stunk too.

Saban, Spurrier, Holtz all had high success before figuring out NFL wasn't their thing. O'Brien had decent success coming off an extremely difficult situation w/ negative vibe and sanctions @ PS. He probably be the only one I'd consider at this point.

Y'all made it through Derek Dooley. You can make it through everything forever.

O'Brien is far from terrible as a HC. 4 divisional titles in 6 years. He's a terrible GM.

How did he recruit at Penn State? I'm genuinely curious, because I don't know, but I wonder if his lack of acumen for identifying and cultivating talent is exposed there as well?

If looking at the NFL for potential HCs, I would keep an eye on Doug Pederson. He will likely be gone in Philly soon.

From that list Bill O'Brien would be the best. I would be happier with Malzahn, Herman or Freeze as they already have recruiting connections and coaching connections in the college ranks. I just want this to end one way or another. The longer it goes, the more likely we lose out on transfers.

Waiting for these threads to stop is like waiting for the end of the incessant political ads for the Georgia runoff election. It’s like they never stop; except, at least those ads will stop after tomorrow.
I’m sick of the adds. I get 10 texts a day, my mailbox is full of junk, and each commercial break has around 4 adds.

He was there when they lost a ton of scholarships sue to the Sandusky trial. He had them playing well with 10 less scholarships and completely open transfer rule for Penn St. I think really good coach. No idea on recruiting.

Bill O'Brien is the most arrogant prick I've ever dealt with in my life. Not to mention he's so ******* arrogant, his head wouldn't fit in Knoxville
