Heck to the NO on Marrone and Gase. Please just stop. O'Brien maybe but not Gase or Marrone, not a chance in haiti anything good would come from that. Obrien seems like he likes to move around alot and he is getting up there in age. Just don't see the fit there even though he is much more qualified for a HC than Marrone or Gase. Prefer we go a different route than these thoughts. GBO!

If Tennessee ever hires Adam Gase as Head Coach I’ll disconnect from UT forever. He’s a legitimately terrible head coach.
Oh man you beat me to it...If UT ever and I mean EVER hires that guy I am done...He sucked at my Dolphins and even worse at the Jets...Guy is not fit to clean up the stadium after a game....I'd take Dooley back before I would let that guy coach UT.

Gase was OC for the Bears in 2015 and they sucked. I remember being shocked when he got hired as HC of the Dolphins in 2016

Waiting for these threads to stop is like waiting for the end of the incessant political ads for the Georgia runoff election. It’s like they never stop; except, at least those ads will stop after tomorrow.

I'd take Chadwell in addition to these two prior to even sniffing O'Brien, Gase or Marrone.
Not saying he'd be my choice, but O'Brien is a solid college coach. He took the Penn State job when not many wanted it, and did well considering the circumstances. The college/ceo style of coaching just doesn't seem to translate to coaching millionare grown men In the NFL. Players make the teams and league too much $$ for most coaches to run teams how they want.

Come on guys, are you serious? Anyone think former NFL head coaches are going to hitch their wagon to a Beldar? Good grief, talk about delusion. Holly crap we’ve fallen into the abyss.

At least the first two names would definitely listen if we call them for HC job and would be a good hire too (not Urban Meyer great but definitely good hires) .. Adam Gase is a good name too but not sure how he would do in college but id the dude is interested in OC job at Alabama, he would love being HC at TN !!

My pick would be Bill O' Brien but would be happy with Doug too .. but oh wait, we havent fired corn bread yet and Phat Foolmer will never hire anyone of caliber here ..
So you wanna hire these coaches because our coach is not winning. But all these got fired because they were not winning at their previous jobs. Sounds about right in here.

Wasn’t Marrone an o-line coach at UT when we were pretty good in the early 2000’s. Wouldn’t mind him back if so in that job.

You could throw Spurrier in there, too. But, Kiffin was really young when he got his NFL head coaching shot. He was clearly not mature enough for the moment. That doesn't apply here. Holtz had been a very successful collegiate had coach before getting the Jets gig, when he was also pretty young. Spurrier, had much more collegiate success before making the move to and from the NFL. Carroll was in the NFL for a long time, but had never been a college head coach.

Also, Carroll and Kiffin are exciting, upbeat, big personality guys. None of O'Brien, Gase or Marrone are that. Gase has never been a college head coach - to my knowledge.

Bottom line, none of these three coaches are a very good comparison to the list of losers that people want at UT right now.
Carroll at USC?

As much as I swear to any diety that we could do better, I would take Tee as HC with Jim Bob Cooter as OC and Chavis as DC. Yes I know this is unrealistic and not ideal. However, ask yourself, would we really be any worse off if we pulled off that shake up?
