Bill Cosby

This is all a little troubling.

I find it hard to believe that 13 women were raped by him and he was never charged with anything.

Likewise, I find it hard to believe 13 women have accused him and they're totally unfounded

That being said. The burden of proof is on them. He's innocent until proven guilty.

Looks like most states have DNA exceptions, so it's not necessarily ever up, but wow, I stand corrected. WTF is wrong with lawmakers? The one time they should be heavy-handed.

Any which way, there is such thing as extralegal consequences, so I'd say it's a pretty good thing they came out about it. I don't get why we care so much about the judicial system and so little about social mechanisms when it comes to justice.

Who knows whether or not it happened and nobody would be able to prove or disprove it. Regardless if it did happen the statute of limitations ran out on that crap over 20 years ago. There is quite literally nothing they can do legally do to him other than smear his name like they already have. Like I said...

At least one woman I saw in an interview said she tried to come out when it happened. She said no one believed her or chose not too.

Bill Cosby was a powerful man in show business back in the 80s and early 90s. A lot of people's careers depended in him, including some of the alleged victims. It's very conceivable that his entourage willingly or blindly looked the other way about such allegations.

Obviously these women have never gotten over it and I don't blame them.

That's DOCTOR Huxtable, and Dr. Huxtable didn't do anything wrong. Bill Cosby did.
This is how I'm keeping this from ruining the show for me.

It's kinda sad that Nick at Nite pulled the Cosby show because of that.

I hope it isn't true. I would think that if it were then people would have gotten the media's attention when these events allegedly occurred. People didn't turn a blind eye to Pee Wee Herman, Michael Jackson, or Rob Lowe. People love a good "story" on closet perverts.

Herman and Lowe's acts were pretty hard to deny considered one was arrested and one had video evidence. And Jackson was a grown man having sleepovers with kids, not hard to see why that wasn't ignored.

I think it's bullshlt. If it did happen what's the point in bringing this crap up from over 30 years ago? Talk about beating a dead horse.

Washed out, cobwebbed, old blue hair hags looking for some attention and media time.

Apparently the statue of limitations has passed so they just want everyone to know. They aren't looking for money or persecution.

The law isn't in place to get guilty people off it's supposed to prevent crazy stuff exactly like this from happening. Like X amount of women coming forward 30 years later to try and ruin someone's life and/or reputation in some way shape or form.

Apparently the statue of limitations has passed so they just want everyone to know. They aren't looking for money or persecution.

They probably are actually, because he's rich and he already settled the one case years ago out of court.

Have you read some of the accounts that these women are claiming? A great number of them admit to knowingly swallowing some random pills Cosby gave them for various 'ailments'. Some of the accounts even list multiple instances when this took place. If you thought something went down the first time you were with him why would you go back for seconds?

I'm with golfballs on this one and say the burden of proof is on them.

Good lord dude. You sound more upset his reputation will be damaged than if he actually got away with this stuff.

No, I'm just over this whole accusation crap given the events this past week I guess. Trial by media and with no proof or jury verdicts. He's already lost deals just over the IDEA of it all.

IF he did it he deserves more than just his name smeared.

If you're not careful the Media will have you hating the people being oppressed and loving those doing the oppression. Rape is a serious crime, but the timing of this is rather suspicious.

Yes, but he doesn't deserve to have deals cancelled over allegations.

But can you really blame the networks? He is toxic right now. Why sink a bunch of money into a project featuring him if all it iis going to do is bring negative publicity to their business?

The networks speculate just like the same idiots that price our gas.

Coug, if you were in charge at NBC, a network that is already struggling for quality programming, would you be willing to bring that controversy to the company doorsteps? Would your job be worth going to bat for Cosby because you think these women waited too long to speak out?

I haven't seen Bill Cosby on any primetime NBC blocks so no I don't think it's an issue. As far as for them struggling for quality programming they brought that on themselves for constantly cancelling decent shows before they had a chance.

Your point was that he was losing deals over the allegations. He was in the process of doing a new sitcom with NBC (if I'm not mistaken) before they cancelled it due to the ongoing controversy.

Totally inappropriate, but I wonder if he nicknamed his junk "Fat Albert"?
