Biggest "What if" moments in Tennessee History

What if Jamal Lewis doesn't trip on 1st and 10 in '99 against Fla. with 2 min to go?

What if Alex Walls had just kicked off deep like he was supposed to instead of squibbing it against GA in 01'?

What if James Stewart didn't fumble on the 1 yard line against Bama.....in back to back years?

That was a designed squib by our glorious leaders. Squibs are stupid. Make the guys earn their win. What a stupid move by Fulmer that game

What if Fulmer would have thought "fake punt!" like the rest of America during the LSU game in 06.

Or if they had just run the ball and relied on thier Defense in the SEC championship game in 07.

Or even if they had just put a spy on the QB in the SEC championship game of 01.

Or, to go the other way, Rick Clausen had not had such a chip on his shoulder in the only bright point of 05.

What if Tennessee beats Nebraska in the 97 Orange bowl (might a been Fiesta), and Michigan loses in the Rose Bowl?

2001 championship game is the biggest what if for me. I still have images of Matt Mauck ripping us up in the second half.

cant think of any football ones, most of them have bee ncovered, but i got one that really stings me in my arse, whatif Ramar Smith makes the last second layup against ohio st in the sweet 16? final four? xavier sure would not of beat us. again sorry its not football.

What if there wasn't a yellow flag on the field after Chris Leak threw an interception that was run back for a TD in 06?

You mean the BS roughing the passer call where chris leak tripped over himself and marvin mitchell took the INT back to the house........ AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

We were up by 17 with the dagger in the heart. Instead they got a 1st and went on to win against chavis's vaunted 3rd down prevent D.

And of course only fitting that UF went on to win the NC that year.

One of the worst calls ive ever seen and i was standing 30 yards away.

yeah, i think thats what he's asking. i misunderstood it at first too...he worded it strange

Yeah, I did.

You guys read it right though. If he doesn't get hurt and has a big year, would he have left before he could help us win a title?

Remember in that '06 Fla game, Brandon James had a PR TD called back so it evened out.

What if the officials doesn't thrown the flag on 4th down at Syracuse in the 4th quarter?

As far as basketball, what if Chris Lofton wasn't treated for cancer 2 yrs ago in the NCAA tournament?

There were three blocks in the back to help spring him free. I saw that from section Y. Having a TD called back for a legit penalty and having one called back due to the most curious call of the helmet rule are two different things. What sucked is that they had just made that rule at the beginning of the season. It seems like they stopped enforcing it so tyranically after that game, because it was a ridiculous rule that cost us the game.
