Biggest Underperformer

Our whole TE group has underperformed. Helton tried to get them the ball early on, often targeting them in the passing game way more than they should have been and the results were poor. It's wasn't one of them but all of them. Ball on the one and we try to bang it in and the only person in orange standing up looking around who whiffed on hitting anybody was one of our TEs. Since those embarrassing performances Helton targets them less these days, our playmakers get targeted more a d the TEs are actually hitting people which is an improvement. Our first four games as a group they just plain stunk all of them that played that is, the good news they are improving. If you think Richmond was bad our TEs were embarrassing as football players IMO.

Tyler Byrd hasn’t done much
Pruitt seems to like having big receivers that are 6'1" or more. Callaway, Jennings, Palmer, and Johnson are all bit targets. Byrd gets a lot of praise so that is the only reason I can see him getting just 1 catch this year. At least he made it count though.

Who does everyone think is the biggest underperformer this season?

Why do fans feel the need to go negative...... Underachiever? Seriously this is a thread that just makes me SMH. After a complete game and a team coming together as they did saturday and you start this thread? Ma'am, I can't begin to tell you how much I disagree with this post. KC camp maybe? Not sure what game you watched this Saturday and from the thread, you were probably shopping.

Kessling! Same boring Chit and commentary every year with no emotion.
Personally, Bob followed a legend, he's not John Ward, but just for the sake of your post, how well would you do in his position? Quick question, Do you have nail scars in your hands, feet, and a side piercing from a spear? Then guess what, you're not perfect and Bob isn't either but the man loves UT so in my book he's good to go for me! Grow Up! Oh oh yeah..... Enjoy ignore because you have nothing but vile to offer.

Ok, I’ll bite and pile on. The OP. Starting a thread that is basically “throw current individual football players under the Vol Nation bus”, IMHO, is underperforming. Football is a team sport. Picking on individuals when you are clueless to the myriad of things that goes into play/performance/metrics seems kinda sad. How many arguments have we had about “is it JG, the line, the receivers, the running backs, or the bad play calling?” I just hope and pray the progress continues, we beat Vandy and Mizzou, win our Liberty Bowl appearance, and recruit in the top five nationally. It looks to me like we are starting to gel as a team and Richmond, Byrd, and others are contributing. See you on Beale Street!

Having less than half of the information, I'd resist criticizing players in the moment. Let's wait and see how many require off season surgery that were playing hurt during the season.

He’s performed a lot better than people think. He’s doing admirably in areas that many people don’t notice....I would say that Austin Price is the the biggest loser. He’s dogged Byrd all year even when he’s had very good games. He’s terrible when it comes to football analysis.
Watch it, there are quite a few people on here who worship every word that Austin Price utters.

Tee Martin and it ain't even close. Dude gets promoted to full time OC in the off-season and gets demoted mid-season with the offense spiraling out of control.

Edit: And he took it so well like he knew he didn't deserve it in the first place.
Worse than Willie Taggart?

Biggest Underperformers: Section W, Row 51 at Neyland. Those people need to pull their **** together.

Worse than Willie Taggart?

Dude went from supposedly being considered for the UT HC job to underperforming OC to now underperforming WR coach to possibly unemployed at seasons end of Helton is fired.

Willie has seriously underperformed but he may get a chance at redemption at the same school next year. Tee very well might not even get that.

I don’t expect Bob to be anywhere close to John Ward. Kessling is just boring on the air. Sorry our opinions differ. It's a message board for goodness sakes. Get over it and Grab a kotex.

Have you listened to Coach Barnes mess with him before and after games, Bob can't take it, he is such a stiff.
