What do you guy's think has been the biggest surprise this season?

I personally think it's the turnaround of crompton. i know it's only been two games since he was a pitiful excuse for a QB but I still can't believe the way he has played against bama and GA. hardesty has been a nice surprise too. I knew he had it in him to be a great player but this guy has turned into a freaking BEAST.

I would have to agree about Crompton. I bashed him enough early in the season, and have been more than happy to eat my words.

There may have been something to the different systems and all on Crompton. He was a 5 star coming out of school. Even if he had been a 3 star he was still playing bad. Our line on the other hand has converted position players and walk-ons. And they have held through the toughest stretch of our schedule providing adequate protection.
I do see Crompton getting better and better as the season goes on. 9 really good quarters of play so far. And a coach who understands what plays fit his style instead of trying to force a style on him.

Agree about Hardesty. Doug Matthews has talked on more than one occasion that Hardesty was one of the most gifted players he had ever seen when he first came to UT and it's been great seeing him play this year without the injury bug.

I don't think the injury bug got to Hardesty last year as much as most people think...I think Fulmer was using his seniority logic. This is just going off what Hardesty said in one of his interviews earlier this year.

biggest surprise of the season would have to be aaron douglas making major contributions at a position he wasnt even playing until august. were in good shape with ad ( he will be a lt in the nfl by the way) .

For me, its been the drive and passion in the fourth quarter, especially when we were behind. It seemed to me in the past that once we were behind , the team shut it down. Kiffin has set a tone for years to come with the "never give up" attitude.

I agree, the seniority thing has been going on for a long time. Just my opinion.

The progress of Crompton, to he point he's starting make the sky look like the limit. Hardesty right behind him.

Crompton for sure. Not so much Hardesty. He showed what he could do last year when he spelled Foster. He should have really started over Foster last year IMO.

Oh the good side --- the OL. This is a patch work line and they are playing well. I thought this would be a disaster again this year.

On the bad side, special teams. I'm not bashing Lincoln here. I just can't believe we gave up 2 TDs on kicks this year already.

Good- The fact we have two future star freshman at the most critical postions in footbal other than QB (Douglas, Hughes)

Bad- The special teams play has been horrendous.

After last year and how lethargic this team seemed to be, I was surprised to see them take a new 'personality' this quick. This team, unlike last year, is tough and they take the field with an attitude and a no quit mentality. I love the fight in them and what surprised me is seeing the freshman take on this personality in their first year. These freshman are going to be something special as upper class men
