I think one thing we can all agree on here, amazing there is one ha, this team has talent at all positions and if everything comes together this team will be good to very good. The D is going to be as good or better than last season and my personal opinion is Joey wins the job and makes it all work. Have hope fellow Vols.

The problem with this simple approach is that if your wr are average or mediocre, teams will single cover and stack the box to stop the run game. Stop our run game and we’ll be toast
Maybe we can put a couple of wide receivers that are above average in the game.

While the WRs are thin due to injuries et al, I could see formations with a good hands RB or tight end in the slot. This coaching staff has displayed adaptability and will utilize available players to execute the offensive scheme.
No. The sky is falling. Don’t you read the internetz? 😉

Hey these guys in the wr room weren’t just picked up off the corner! If they can get open every now and then and a ball comes close they got a good chance of catching it! They can’t all be five stars and pre season all Americans but if they are in the wr room of a nationally ranked offensive system just how bad do you think they could be? OVERREACTING OVERTHINKING

Throw to the RBs and TEs early and often. We did very very little to keep the defenses on their heels the past 2 seasons...Last seasons play calling was vanilla as vanilla can be.
I always wondered why we don't line up 4 TEs. 3 run routes and the 4th is in protection, or 2 in protection and RB runs a dump off route. Or a screen pass. Our TEs seem to have good hands. There are lots of ways to shake the offense up.

Our RBs and TEs have been under-utilized by Heupel in the receiving game.

Unlike our QB last year, hopefully our QB this season will have the ability to read the defensive ploy of the defense showing dropping six into coverage only to end up bringing pressure. After the OK game several teams picked up on that watching the film and employed it rather successfully against us. Depending on the pressure applied that ploy can take away the deep ball but leaves plenty of soft spots in the zone coverage.
